Would this weekend be good for a TML Open or is its proximity to Thanksgiving a problem?

This seems like it would be Tough with thanksgiving and going back to College. I could see making Day 1 but Day would definitely be out of the question for me. Honestly I think for college students in General January is the most open month. :frown:

It works for me! Gets a chance to get out of the house and away from the family after the holiday:wink:

Count me in if you do it that weekend!!!!!

Could potentially be a problem for me.

From the perspective of an out-of-stater, the date seems nice because I'll have that Friday off already. I would think this would help a lot of people somewhat.

Unfortunately, there will also be people who have already dedicated that weekend to visiting with relatives, so it may be a net loss of attendance.

I'd call it risky, but my brother and I would be there!

I'll be spending Thanksgiving in NYC. Brooklyn, specifically. How far is that from the site?

This is a perfect weekend for Magic! Magic players often crave quality events around holidays bc they don't like to over do family stuff.

I would potentially consider Friday and Saturday. Let's be serious Magic players don't shop. Capitalize like a true captilist.

This third of team nameless race will be there.

I think that I can only perform well in every-other-prime-numbered Mana Leak Opens.

So, I'll be skipping this.

I can probably go.

I'm out, it turns out it's a 5 hour drive from where I live, not worth going to.

Hmm...I may be able to go, but I don't know. It really depends when it is...May be able to hit it up on the way back to college that weekend.

I'll probably have to pass on this tournament. My biggest fear is that it might become another GP:Colombus with Ad Nauseum in the current card pool. This really discourages me from playing. Maybe next one.

Please tell me you're joking.

1) If anything, the first tournament would probably be the Source Tournament if this was even possible.

2) Ad Nauseam does nothing to improve the Threshold/Force of Will match ups. Combo decks go just as "all in" on Ad Nauseam as they have done with Infernal Tutor/Burning Wish. Even the slower decks that pack disruption (Duress/Thoughtseize), still fear Counterbalance and Force of Will. I haven't found a deck packing Ad Nauseam that doesn't lose to Force of Will like most combo decks (with the obvious exception of Ichorid).

3) If you really think this is going to happen, bring Threshold or a deck that packs Force of Will and Daze. You can include Thoughtseize as well. Seriously.

4) Ad Nauseam is not as broken as Flash was. That's a guarantee.

Agreed on the Ad Nauseum analysis, but you have to remember this is Cavius you're speaking to. He hasn't played in a real-life tournament since GP Columbus (1-6-2 with a bye I think...) and hasn't had a winning tournament performance since that well-documented and mindboggling 7th place finish (out of 22, no less) in 2005. This weekend looks good from my perspective & hopefully we can accumulate a good Worcester/central MA presence for a Ray Robillard (read AWESOME) tournament.
