It's a side event for the T1 they're having that day. I probably can't make the Batcave on the 12th because there's a Vancouver PTQ on the 11th and I'd rather not drive across Washington twice in one weekend, so I'm probably going to this!

For that I need vehicular transportation! And cards! Word on the street was that Volt was bringing a crew from Portland, and if Pinder's willing to hit up Portland, Arlington should be easy.

re: cards: I'm looking to borrow 3 Goyfs, 3 Strands, 3 Deltas, a Volrath's Stronghold, 4 Counterbalances, a Vedalken Shackles, 4 Leylines of the Void, 2 Tormod's Crypt, and 3 Thoughtseizes.

I also have completed a Highlander deck and am looking for victims.

If you're still by Greek row, we could bus down to my place and I'll drive (Pinder & Mav will probably come too) or Mav will in teh Jeep.

I can lend you the bolded stuff (Goyf's are up for sale too).

pretty sure Peasant Highlander would mean that I couldn't play four color control :(

I'm playing 4-color control and normally control is 5-color but I don't play white.

Why not just come down to the PTQ on the 11th and stay for the 12th then go back up?

Or are you currently in Oregon now and going back up before the 4th?

The PTQ is in Vancouver, BC.

I have Strands, Deltas, Volrath's Stronghold, 3 Counterbalances, a Shackles, and the Crypts. That means you still need 1 Counterbalance, the Leylines, and the Thoughtseizes. I can always bring Duresses as a backup.

Excellent, another Highlander deck.

Well that's totally not what I expected, lol. Guess that does make for little sense to spend so much time riding back and forth.

I've got one of them, too. I could use Rofellos...i? Does anyone have one?

This page needs more reporting about this tournament for me, because I'm bored at work and sad that I can't be there. I know Legacy hasn't started yet and won't start for a while, but at least give me something.

What's going on with Vintage? Is there anyone there yet that's on the Source?

Don and Chris are like fifteen minutes or so from my place and from there it's probably forty five minutes to Arlington. Updates then.

I went to my sister's family night in college. They had a fun casino fundraiser. I played blackjack with a guy that plays magic the whole night. The End.

WHAT HAPPENED OVER YONDER!?!?!

Lets not do that again.

Chris and I left Portland at noon. Because of rain, it took us about five and a half hours to get to Mirkwood (current time: 5:30). We picked up Max on the way, which was sweet.

We arrived during round four of the Vintage tournament. They were playing six, then cut to top eight. Frown. We played Highlander, and I went 2-1 against Max. We then played 3/5, and he won the next two, 3-2 him. We played one final game, and Max misses that I have lethal lands on the board: Treetop Village, Blinkmoth Nexus, Pendlehaven, and Centaur Garden, with him at eight. I swing for the win, he casts a bunch of Sorceries ("On my turn!"), and eventually blows up all of both of our lands. He wins, so we call it a draw for the game.

I play Gordy's Peasant Highlander deck, and go 3-1 against it. Humiliating.

I smash a Wizards deck with my Dreadnaugh Affinity (Stifles, Wastes, 2 Vision Charm, 3 Fling build!11) something like 4/4. I seriously contemplate running it. I don't.

Legacy Starts! (8:30pm)
A punk band shows up, so we play in the Mirkwood Dungeon. There needed to be one more table, but other than that it was pretty sweet.

Round One: Mono Black (With Vindicates)
I smash him. Rawr.
Game Two: He goes turn one Ritual, Pithing Needle, Withered Wretch; Turn two Nantuko Shade; turn three Hypnotic Specter. He Extirpates Goyfs and points to this as an excellent play as we shuffle for game three. I am rude.
Game Three: I mull to five. He is amazing. I ALMOST stabilize one mana short of finding and casting Flametongue Kavu. This is the first time I have ever lost a game to FTK not being Fire Imp (cue foreshadowing). I am rude.
1-2 Games
0-1 Matches

Round Two: Painter's Servant
Game one, he wins the die roll and plays Grindstone. I Therapy him for Painter's Servant, and see Tundra, Ponder, Enlightened Tutor x2, Trinket Mage. Whatever.
Game two, I win with Krosan Grips and FTKs (Games I won because Kavu kills Painters and Fire Imp does not.)
Game three, I have Krosan Grip. He has two Painters, a Grindstone, and Forces for my Kavu and stuff.
1-2 games this round; 2-4 games total
0-2 matches

Chris wins(see his report) his round. I play some more.

Round Three: Helm of Obedience/Leyline Combo
Game one he opens with Leyline. I am crabby, because here is more sideboard cards main (see: Withered Wretch, Extirpate round one). I Therapy away Helm. I win.
Game two: No Leyline. Yes Thoughtseize and Therapy.
2-0 games this round; 4-4 games total
1-2 matches

Round four: Painter's Servant (same list as before, with LEDs and stuff)
I win. I Kavu a Painter, shred his hand some, all sorts of good stuff. I see Dreadnaughts.
Game two: He Trinket Mages, I therapy? That might not have been this game, but it happened at some point, and it's awesome. He ETutors for a Meekstone. I beat him under it with a Goyf, Eternal Witness, and Rofellos for a while, holding Krosan Grip x2. I Gripped a Painter, then Witnessed it back with that Witness I used to beat him under the Meekstoone.
2-0 games this round; 6-4 games total
2-2 matches

At some point during all this, I played against Brian with Dread Affinity, and go 1-2 or so. Triple Waste draw is savage. I play against him with Survival and go 2-0, but he made lots of mistakes. I play Gordy, and it's a long interesting game that ends when we run out of time. We both have Tops in play, and he has a Gigapede and Counerbalance in his hand. I have a Gigapede in play, Squee in hand, and another business spell in hand. It would have been interesting, to say the least. It probably would have come down to the draws we both got off the top.

Chris is also 2-2, and our breakers are terrible. It's about 11:30, so we bail. I go tell my opponent to report it 2-0 in his favor, because his tiebreakers are good. Max has my Strands, Deltas, Counterbalances, Urborg, and Stronghold, so I hope they come in the mail. Chris and I bail, get (dinner? Breakfast? Something) at a Dennys in Seattle. I drive the whole way home, super wired on caffeine. WWWWWWWiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiRRRRREEEEDDDD!!!!!111!!! Woo.

I drop off Chris right at 5am. I get home at 5:10, and I'm in bed at 5:30. Unfortunately, I have to get up at 9am to go back to Corvallis.

Don: So, I've formed my own Team. The InfoPirates.
Brian: Really? What?
Don: Yeah, I got sick of my teammates losing to having no basics and bad plays. You're running basics, you can be on my team. (Look at guy next to me with almost my Survival list) Your deck is good, you can be on my team. Oh, and Gordy, he's running Gigapede, he can be on it. Oh, and Max, of course.
Brian: Or we could just kick James off of our team. That'd be a lot simpler.

Best part of the whole report.

edit - And I think the guy next to you was Craig.
