Off the Wall Games will be hosting a Legacy tournament for 4x Sea Drake on November 1st, 2008
Date: Saturday November 1st 2008
Start Time: 1:00PM Registration begins at 11:30 AM (try to be on time, we will be starting promptly at 1:00)
Type: Legacy (1.5)
Cost: $10.00
Minimum of 12 People
Where: 41 Russell ST
Hadley, MA 01035
1st place: 4x Sea Drake or $170.00 in Store Credit
2nd place: 4x Tundra or $100.00 store credit
3rd Place: $60.00 store credit
4th Place: $40.00 store credit
5th-8th Places each get 6 boosters
This will be a SANCTIONED event.

How are Sea Drakes better than Tundras? Does Sea Drake even see play outside of Faerie Stompy? They seem to be a novelty in my eyes.

They are somewhat of a novelty, but they are priced higher and are harder to find than tundras. There is always the option to take the credit which could purchase more than 4 tundras.

Wow, if you'e gonna complain about the prize then dont go...that leaves someone else a chance of winning and being appreciative of their Sea Drakes. Ive been to Two tourneys at Off The Wall and have enjoyed myself both times. If Team Albany is making the trek for this than so am i.

I go the farthest and according to google maps its 312 miles and 5 hours and 23 minutes, though I think its really more like 4.5 to 4.75 hours.

It's about four hours for me, it's maybe another hour on top of that for Brian and I think after we pick up Ian there's only another three hours or so left in the trip. It really helps when your parents have a house 10 minutes from the store though, definitely better to get that trip out of the way the night before.

Hey Kevin, have you ever thought of trying to get one of the local artists to do signings at your tourneys? I know that Tony Diterlizzi at least used to live right down the street from me in Amherst - I'm sure people would come just to get their foil Brainstorms signed. There are at least a couple more that live within fifteen minutes of the store, Rebecca Guay comes to mind as well. Just throwing it out there.

In the spirit of Cape Cod 'we don't believe in the PM function' it should be 7.50 or so from South Station. There is also the possibility of hooking up with Team Maine coming through? Or will Boston actually sac up & organize a car? That would be the best of all possible solutions (and more likely than certain people ever showing up to a major Legacy event...Clark....)

It's nothing personal Dragon Stompy is just a pile, with a few basics and knowing what to counter, the decks that Dragon Stompy is supposed to be beating are beating it...

I kinda agree, it is a pile. But I have been able to fight may way through some tough games. It all depends on how fast the deck plays... Last time it did well for me, maybe not this time... But I have confidence :laugh:

I think its more like the deck is very hard to play, almost as hard as combo, so a lot of inexperienced people pick it up and don't know what they're doing. This also applies to Ichorid.

Solid tourny. I tried three times to punt my third round to corey playing painter.dec, but alas I dug my way out of it.

I went 2-2 with Solidarity (!?) beating Dreadstill (!) and Grbw Survival, and losing to Goblins and Sligh (no Hydroblasts in the board :frown: ). Then scooped to VsTheWorld because he was 3-1 and got paired down and I'm a nice guy (slash my car was leaving soon).
The metagame was STRAIGHT UP 2005. Tons of Goblins and stuff.
I went 2-2 with Solidarity (!?) beating Dreadstill (!)
Holy shit good job, that matchup is brutal normally for Solid.

I saw an insane amount of standstills being played. I heard that card is good.
I went 3-3 playing UWg landstill with Elspeth (so much win). Won against dragonstompy, Rgb goblins (technically I lost, but he was nice enough to give me the win since he was leaving), Wur scepter chant aggro. Lost Rgb goblins, UGw thresh, Mono-black discard. Sideboard needs more blue elemental blast.
