Absolutely ridiculous amounts of money out for prize pools. Sick looking alter by Spencer as well. That card alone would be worth making the trip.

I only wish I'd be able to work on an unpowered budget Vintage list by that time. And of course having the cash and time to actually make that trip.

I think he might have been going with Baazar spelt wrong to make it bizarre? Completely original artwork of Yawg's Will by Ron Spencer. It might fetch a pretty penny.

He does a lot of them (each one unique) and they always fetch like $500 or more on ebay.

I just think it's silly to have it spelled wrong. There's no other one like it since it was made just for this tournament. There's no need to make it unique by misspelling a word.

Maybe he was having too much fun and didn't realize until the last minute the double A's were in the wrong spot.

Not like anybody's really going to care, the card's worth $500-1k just because he threw his name and some paint onto it.

As it was said over on SCG, maybe the "Baa" was referring to the goat?

DeathwingZERO

You know, that would make perfect sense. And would be even more hilarious if it was intentional like that.

Hello

If your road trip to italy is a touristic travel, Annecy can be a really prety nice travel, in fact the place of annecy was one of the most important place of the Savoy (the old name of one part of italy). For information Annecy and is department was only atached to france in 1860, before she was part of the independant "realm of Piemont Sardaigne" who is now part of italy and part of france.
The other name of annecy is Venise of alp, it's a medieval city just under the more pure lake of europe, in the midle of a nice chain of mountain!

Here some photo of the city:

My wife just bought me a flight to France

I was reading The Source, you know, like you do any Saturday afternoon, and happened to comment about this tourney and how much i'd like to go. She said that i have been a good cat and deserved to go to a tournament so she just went and booked me a ticket using her airline points

So i am working on finding accommodation now. Can anybody recommend a decently priced B&B?

EDIT: I'm thinking she might be trying to get rid of me for a few days for this tourney is absolutely worth it.

hemgath
04-04-2009, 09:07 PM
what a nice gift :)

Theyr's not really B&B in annecy, the name french name is "chambre d'autes" (yes french people don't like made same things as anybody... it's the froggy's special abylities ;) ), theyre's alot near annecy and i'm sure yu can find it with used "annecy chambre d'aute" in google ;)
But try too, annecy's hotel, because of the tourism near the city i'm sure theyre's a lot of B&B trap place and maybe it's not the best choice ;)

I've some T16 names, but no decklists, even decknames sor far.

The one thing I do know, is that after 9 round of Legacy +top16, the final was DragonStompy winning over ANT.

WTF ?!

Like GP:Chicago, one so-called inconsistent deck and a combo one made it to the end. The field is unknown for now, but CBThresh//NLU had to be well represented.

Sounds weird...

I'll let you informed when more informations will leak.

The info available is this:

Hernandez Alcaraz Ben [ESP] vs. Deriat Julien [FRA]
Pitalot Cyril [FRA] vs. Gillet Yves [FRA]
Testa Federico [ITA] vs. Cadei Angelo [ITA]
De Sauza Guillaume [FRA] vs. Czolk Stefan [GER]
Pinto Antonio [ESP] vs. Piernoli Filiberto [ITA]
Minarro David [ESP] vs. Viciani Stefano [ITA]
Dalla Via Francesco [ITA] vs. Wehrbach Mathieu [FRA]
Danis Mickael [FRA] v. Cammilluzzi Marco[ITA]
bolded guys made it to the top 8...

I only got info from the spanish crew: Benito Hernández, piloting ANT, lost in the finals to a Dragon Stompy player (Marco Cammilluzzi). David Miñarro finished 3rd.

The only Sourcer I know from the top was Stefan Czolk, I guess the SPOD guys will feed us with more info sooner or later, I expect it to be in the form of an awesome report.

I made Top4 with Thresh/w and lost to the ANT player in the semi finals (which I probably shouldn't have).

2. ANT
3. Tempo Thresh

5.-8.

What was your price?

1 UL Ancestral Recall with a beat back worth around €250 according to me Vintage hearties. I managed to sell it for €280 cash because I have The Mad Trading Skills TM.

Overall the event was extremely good for trading/selling - especially those German cards were sought after like mad by the Italian and Spanish crew: I made €1k overall on the three days, selling my own stuff, and that without actually selling (m)any cash-cards (as in Duals). The other SPOD guys' cards I sold fetched a pretty penny too (sadly not breaking the quad digits though).

And has any decklist been posted yet?

Nope.

Pimped decks: loads, especially Spaniards and Italians do like their Beta Duals and blingbling stuff.

Most of my pics only have way drunk guys on them (and little to no MtG), but anyway, here (http://s243.photobucket.com/albums/ff222/Der_imaginaere_Freund/annecy/?start=all) you go (explanation/backstory of the pics will follow with the report).

Also, you don't happen to know where you can get the cheapest german duals in europe?

Somewhere that isn't Baden Würtemberg (i.e. where I live) - we have one of the highest price-levels in Germany. Magickartenmarkt.de is a good place to start if you can't get people to get you the duals directly.

Goblins is a competitive deck still, but it's not tournament-winning anymore. I crushed 2 of them and would also have crushed the third one if that guy had not had that ridiulous openinghands.
