Grand Prix Chicago Trial

Time:
Registration begins at 10 AM with the tournament starting promptly at 11 AM.

Registration closes ten minutes before the event is scheduled to start. Any player who wants to enroll after registration has closed will be able to do so, but will receive a round one match loss. Players arriving after round two has been paired will not be able to enroll in the tournament.

Tournament Format:
Legacy Constructed

Entry Fee:
$25.00 - Credit cards are not accepted at the event site.

Prizes:
• 1st Place - Three-round bye to GP Chicago and 24 packs of Conflux.
• 2nd Place - 18 packs of Conflux
• 3rd & 4th Place - 9 packs of Conflux
• 5th through 8th Place - 3 packs of Conflux

Side Events
Single elimination booster drafts
Entry: $10.00
Prizes: 3 boosters to 1st Place (or entry into the next draft)

Single elimination constructed tournaments
Entry Fee: $13.00
Prizes: Box (36 Packs) to 1st Place

Directions
From 581N
1) Take exit 3E onto VA-101 E / Hershberger Road NW.
2) Drive for approximately 1.2 miles, then turn left (at the Walgreens) onto Williamson Road.
3) The Star City Game Center is approximately 8/10th of a mile down on the left hand side.

From 81N
1) Take exit 146, then turn right onto VA-115 towards Hollins/Cloverdale. VA-115 will become Plantation Road.
2) Stay straight on Plantation Road, then turn right (at the CVS Pharmacy) onto Williamson Road/US-11S.
3) The Star City Game Center is approximately 1.5 miles up Williamson Road on the right hand side.

From 81S

While trading is fine, please note that buying/selling cards with anyone except for our authorized dealer(s), or soliciting to do so elsewhere, is strictly forbidden at this event. Failure to obey this rule may result in both the buyer and the seller being removed from the event without refund, and banned from attending future events.

Star City Events also reserves the right to limit the amount of space being occupied by any one individual while trading, and does not allow the use of suitcases, handcarts, luggage carts, etc. to be used for the purpose of transporting excessive amounts of trade stock

Im guessing those prizes are the bare minimum and will go up with attendance? But anyways should be cool to see what decks make the top 16 in a random meta game. Also the fact that Legacy could be brought into the limelight like standard and extended. That would be the day.

Those prizes actually -are- the bare minimum. That prize support covers up to thirty-six players. If this event saw more than that, we could certainly up the prizes. :)

Yes. And also, watch out for that crispy bit on the end of your shrimp. It's a real choking hazard.

I've been trying to google up the results of this trial, but have yet to find them anywhere.

Quicksilver told me there were only 20 people and Team Unicorn took 8 of the Top 9 spots. Since SSG hasn't been doing anything with Legacy, I kinda figured there would be a small turnout.
