You know you should have Aaron first. I'm pissed I wasn't able to come. I heard no ANT decks were there, I could have done some damage. But no, My Sous Chef had to quit....

I will post the remaining decklists tonight.

Paul and Aaron split, but Paul was 2nd in the swiss and Aaron was 4th in the swiss, that's why Paul is listed as first place. Placement in a top 4 or finals split is decided by swiss standing.

Is there any reason why Mastrianos list runs Sprites as the only Faeries? I mean, I get the sick synergy with the Labs and all, but how often did he have more than 1 out and/or get really scared of 1-drops?

It also has Mutavaults as Faeries, so being able to counter 2 drops is reasonable, and countering 3 drops isn't totally unfeasible (especially in the late game where you will ideally be recurring them with Labs).

Although unless he got away with running 6 Jittes in his 75, something is wrong with that list.

That's what happens when you play in unsanctioned tournaments. I once had sixty-six Cheaty Faces played against me.

OMG it was. I wrote an article about it on Starcity this week. The decision trees aren't that hard and being able to Deed people all day was hot too. Punishing overextension is amazing.

One of my favorite parts of running TEC (when I was) was the interplay between Shackles (in this case, The Abyss) and Wrath (in this case, Deed). They're forced to commit dudes to the board to play around your spot removal, and then BAM - wipe that shit up with a sweeper. It felt SOOO good when it played out like that.
