This is my list as it is now. I haven't looked at it too hard since before zendikar came out though I took something out for an Eldrazi Monument immediately. Is there anything that looks like it could be changed? What about the lands?

I would like to stay on theme with saprolings and I don't want to change my colors.

Any suggestions?

Rhys, The Redeemed seems way better than the Siege-Tower for token-making, esp when your black is not exactly amazing.

Luminarch Ascension would be very good, since you have tons of blockers, and it's nuts in multi.

Martyr's Cause helps against fatties.

I know I could make a stronger token deck, but the point was to stay away from any non-saproling tokens.

I also like my black, but I wish there were a general the fit the theme better. It was pretty much Doran or Teneb.

Black is strong imo for Deathspore Thallid and Necrogenesis and Tutors.

I am ok with playing other efficient creatures, but I want my tokens to be exclusively saprolings.

I would drop the Gauntlet and go for more kodama's reach, journey to discovery/Kite, etc. otherwise find another way of putting them in.

Looks good! I thought of making a similar deck a while back EDH, but I was gonna go blue for equilibrium lol

I don't think Door of Destinies works since my tokens are saps and none of my castable creatures are.

Memorial looks good, what can I take out for it?
Mind's Eye is another card I could add.

I don't know about taking out the gauntlet though. I use it more for the creature pump. I use Mirari's Wake for the same reason.

I'd cut down like 6 lands for one. Add stuff like Solemn, Kodama's Reach, Explosive Vegetation, Harmonize, Garruk (!!!!), Skyshroud Claim, etc. instead... accellerate your mana base is cruc in group games.


I'd also cut down some spells that are just a lil' too narrow on their own. Swords to Plowshare's amazing in Legacy, but you want stuff that's more "dramatic" EDH, I'd cut that and add Duplicant instead. Its better synergy especially running witness and genesis its gg.

Also, same thing with Crop Rotation... throw in something like Knight of the Reliquary instead. He's house ^.^

Good catch. Possibly name.. Thallid? I dunno, this card is tribal gold tho

You're running some pretty weak cards in that list.

My Nath of the Gilt Leaf EDH deck has a strong token theme which it uses to break the symmetry on effects like The Abyss, Braids, and Smokestack. It's in this forum; check it out.

Mirari's wake is so amazing in this sort of deck. I don't think Coat of Arms, Monument, or Gaunlet are going to do you any good. Take it from someone who has played with Thallids for a decade, you can cut Night Soil. If you are going to run Fungus, Thelon is a good idea. If you really want to beef up your crew, run Mirror Entity, and attack with 20 12/12's. Sounds so good I think I'm adding it to my Rith deck. Krosan Grip is always a good idea.

ok, I went;
- Gauntlet of Power
- Night Soil
- Swords to Plowshares
+ Oblation
+ Enlightened Tutor
+ Thelon of Havenwood

I figured I could get rid of the Night Soil for Enlightened Tutor as I can search Necrogenesis if I need graveyard hate and it allows me another way to get other important enchantments/artifacts.

Thelon is probably better than Gauntlet just because I do play 3 colors.

I took out swords for oblation just because it is another way to deal with generals. It can also deal with other problem cards. Can I target one of my saprolings with it so I can draw 2?

I agree on Skullclamp.

I use Rith as my general for EDH Fungus. The only red cards I use are Pandemonium and the RG Shatter + X saprolings which name I've forgotten.

I made a decision early on between creature pump ala Mirari's Wake, Thelon, Coat of Arms, etc. and Skullclamp. I love Skullclamp, but figured all the creature pump to be better overall.

Go figure again.

Skullclamp is good against Wrath effects, which are all around in the format. You have some sac effects (Mycoloth, Utopia, etc), where Clamp comes in handy. There is no real anti-synergy. Skullclamp is slighty less sick when your creatures have +1/+1, but still good.

Also, did you try Fecundity? Go nuts when they play WoG. :)
