Hi everyone!

I've written some sort of article/primer of the Sharuum Control deck that I've designed. I hope you guys like it!

Sweet design, but the deck is sweeter. Have you tested it against Zur in a 1v1 yet?

Thanks!

I've played some games VS Zur, but not vs a fully competitive one, and the results were clearly on my side (won about 65-70% of the games). My strategy against Zur was clear: Cut the 1st Zur Cast or remove it before it attacks, and then as the game goes on try to get mini advantages that will put you ahead in the game. Both decks operate in a very similar way, so it's a matter of who plays better the control match. There's certain cards that I found to be extremely good vs Zur, like Karn liberated, as it can remove several enchantments as long as you can protect it from an enemy Vindicate.

I believe that versus a competitive Zur deck the match up is about 50-50 and it resolves to the side who plays better his resources.

piZZero, as a writer (the first?) interested in competitive 1v1 EDH, you might want to write an article about the UW control deck piloted by Guillaume Wafo-Tapa that just won a 37 player event in France.
