Per Gavin Verhey's article posted today.

Artifacts
4 Cloudstone Curio

Creatures
4 Arbor Elf
4 Elvish Archdruid
4 Elvish Visionary
3 Essence Warden
4 Heritage Druid
4 Llanowar Elves
4 Nettle Sentinel
2 Regal Force

Instants
2 Summoner's Pact

Legendary Creatures
1 Emrakul, the Aeons Torn
1 Ezuri, Renegade Leader

Sorceries
4 Green Sun's Zenith

Basic Lands
16 Forest

Land Creatures
1 Dryad Arbor

Legendary Lands
2 Pendelhaven

Basically you can use the Curio in conjunction with Essence Warden, Heritage Druid and 1 other 1cc elf to go off for infinite life. If you have a Nettle Sentinel, a Druid and one other 1cc elf, you have infinite mana which you can use with Visionary to draw your deck and cast Emrakul. The deck has a lot of angles which it can attack from and it looks like it could be fun to run. Without MM, this deck doesn't face the same challenges that it does in legacy and the slower format should make this viable. I would try to splash red for the possibility of Blood Moon or Grapeshot being played somewhere in the 75.

I'm fairly certain that if you want to have an actual Elves Combo deck in Modern, you should be testing Genesis Wave and Mirror Entity

Emrakul is uncounterable, and thus superior to both of those options. Neither of those cards solves the "all my crap is summoning sick and I have to pass the turn and get wrathed" issue either. You can also easily take infinite turns using Cloudstone Curio to bounce Emrakul (LOL).

I don't know how often you can pull this off but 4 elves + Elvish Archdruid + Staff of Domination = win.

This list is missing Chord of Calling. It needs an update. (will be working on such a list within the upcoming weeks)

Did you even read the post?

you should be testing Genesis Wave and Mirror Entity

What Elves does really well (coming from legacy combo elves experience) is play 2 sides of the metagame clock really well, combo AND aggro. Mirror Entity has been in and out of legacy lists, I don't see why he wouldn't be in this list. Hell, even when Curio Elves was in extended (after Glimpse rotated) most folks were using Mirror Entity for their finisher.

Bottom line, it should be tested with a combo primary and aggro secondary win/condition. I think Dauntless Escort, Mosswort Bridge, and Windbrisk Heights need some playtest time as well. What Genesis Wave brings is a really powerful spell that can essentially win you the game. Escort can help with wipers (which will be prevalent) and both Bridge and Heights allow for cheating Emmy into play (or Regal Force.)

Genesis Wave is about as close to Glimpse of Nature as you're going to get...I see your point about summoning sickness...but if you get a ton of elves with Genesis Wave, they can now tap for mana with Heritage Druid...meaning you most likely won't really lose any mana potential, and actually might GAIN mana potential if you can get multiple Nettle Sentinels in play.

I'm just hoping for some discussion here...I think Genesis Wave is powerful enough to warrent testing, same with Mirror Entity, Dauntless Escort, the hideaway lands, and even Banefire.

EDIT: And also a blue splash for Unified Will and Negate.

The blue splash might be best as I think Fabricate might be worth testing as well.

Blue splash also gives you Coiling Oracle.

Blue splash also gives you Coiling Oracle.

Which gets your Elvish Visionary up to a potential 8 count...and Cloudstone Curio working with Visionary/Oracle OR 2 of each one...awesome.

I'm going to let you guys into a little piece of super-secret tech I used to play in my casual elves combo deck: Paradise Mantle + Nettle Sentinel. Tap it for :g:, play your green spell, untap Sentinel.

this deck really needs blood moon, as punishing fire just kills it.. and as it is everywhere at the moment, i think its a bad idea to play this deck :/ what do you think? imo Gr Aggro Elves with Moon (maybe even Maindeck) would be better if one wants to play elves

Why is the deck posted playing 19 lands? I've been testing a similar list (but with less land, obviously) and it has been much more consistent than I initially thought it would be. I like Fauna Shaman in here to help you get the creature that you need to finish the combo, but Chord of Calling and more Summoning Pact could fill a similar role.

With all the Goyf decks running around, a singleton Elvish Champion to search for has been pretty good for the aggro backup plan.

18 land is the most I would run. I've actually cut that back to 17 (including Dryad Arbor) after a few games.

I run 8 fetchlands, but still somehow flood with the above stated 17 land configuration.

I've been noticing that as well in my limited testing with this deck. I'm thinking -2 Forests, +1 Elvish Champion and +1 Chord of Calling might improve this deck's performance.

Thoughts on this list:
1 Dryad Arbor
11 Forest
4 Misty Rainforest
1 Pendelhaven
1 Tectonic Edge
18 lands

4 Arbor Elf
4 Elvish Archdruid
4 Elvish Visionary
1 Eternal Witness
4 Heritage Druid
4 Llanowar Elves
4 Nettle Sentinel
2 Regal Force
1 Viridian Shaman
28 creatures

4 Cloudstone Curio
4 Green Sun's Zenith
3 Primal Command
3 Summoner's Pact
14 other spells

Sideboard
2 Acidic Slime
4 Dismember
1 Ezuri, Renegade Leader
2 Kitchen Finks
4 Obstinate Baloth
2 Viridian Shaman

Do you guys think the deck will be viable with all the punishing fire decks around?

LOL I like how everyone stopped posting on this after GSZ got banned...

... I guess it makes sense to start posting again after the article on dailymtg!

(article) http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/boab/184

So Jacob's list relied on the chord / mirror entity strategy which is quite good, mind you it's a budget list (although chord of calling appears to now be $8.00 - wow!)

What this thread needs is a primer... I mean, what are the pieces of Elves!

Combos:
2 Devoted Druids + Ezuri, Renegade Leader + 2 colorless + 3 green mana = infinitely large elves and infinite mana

Nettle Sentinels + Heritage Druid + Cloudstone Curio + Some cheap elves to play = infinite mana

combo above + Elvish Visionary = draw your deck

combo above + Essence Warden = infinite life

Elvish Archdruid + Staff of Domination + 4 other elves = infinite mana and draw your deck

Gilt-Leaf Archdruid + 6 other druids = steal all your opponents lands

any more?

Also, based on goldfishing, I really feel that Lead the Stampede is stupidly good in this deck. Personally, I would play them maindeck.
