Parking
Parking is the main reason most of our larger events are on Sundays•Behind the store there are numbered spaces.
Knight Ware has spaces 9, 10, and 11
but
on Sundays, 2 of our 3 neighbors are usually closed
Sun Cafe (spaces 7 and 8 - the ones on either side of the telephone pole)
is now open on Sunday, please don’t park there

The streets are metered but not checked on sundays
The first street to the west of us is Lankersheim Blvd..
On Lankersheim to the south there is unregulated street parking
Just west of Lankersheim (north side of the street) is an open lot that says
additional MTA parking. It does not get used much on the weekends
unless the hollywood bowl is running something and then there should be signs

any questions, post, call or email me

thanks

Netdecking as I type.

Netdecking is so passé. I prefer to find my decklists on the walls of truckstop restrooms scrawled in a mixture of llama feces and red food coloring. That's GerryT's secret.

I really hope I don't have to work Sunday, so I can play some Reanimator. Is that the kind of rant Goin Aggro's talking about?

Thanks for a great tournament, Lori and Kevin.

I almost audibled to UW Stoneforge, but thankfully I stuck with old faithful Reanimator.

Round 1 - Some variety of UBr Storm - 2-0
Round 2 - UR Past in Flames - 2-0
Round 3 - Mono-Red Burn - 2-1 (including an epic mull to 2 in game 1) EDIT: I originally said 2-0 for this round. Whoops.
Round 4 - Reanimator - 1-2
Round 5 - UW Stoneblade - 2-1
Round 6 - Dredge - 2-0

Top 8 - Merfolk - 2-1
Top 4 - Maverick - 2-1
Finals - NO RUG - 2-1

By now, I would've expected more decks tooled to beating Reanimator. There were an awful lot of people either running UR Delver b/c it just won a StarCity or Burn to beat up on UR and RUG delver lists. I'm not sure how many events are going to fold to Combo and Reanimator before people realize that our local metagame is not the StarCity metagame. But as long as this keeps up, I'll be happy to keep making fatties on turn 2.

There's four Reanimator decks out of a pile of 50 some decks which also includes four Stoneblade decks, six Storm decks, two dredge, and a bunch of more random archetypes. There's a undeniably diverse meta, and you'll lose if you prepare for just two or three archetypes.

I don't build my board and deck for what I expect to see at the top tables, I build it so I have the best chance to deal with as many big threats as possible. This means that I'm not dropping eight slots on graveyard hate.

Also, if you haven't realized already, the average real combo player in the LA meta is a metric shit-ton better than the average combo player anywhere else. (Short Bryan Cook, who is by no means average)

Events in LA will fold to Reanimator and Combo because a lot of people (Twelve year old kids) don't have as much experience with their decks to deal with the power level that Storm, TNT, and Reanimator bring to the table. They'll put the necessary sideboard or MB cards in, but it takes so much experience to know when and how to actually drop and use them versus good, really good, players.

(Twelve year old kids)

A few months ago, if you did not have a plan to beat Cephalid Breakfast, there was no way for you to win an event, and there was effectively one person in the meta who played Breakfast. If you didn't plan your deck to be able to beat him, you didn't have a realistic shot to win.

15th TES
16th Elves
23rd Enchantress
30th TNT
31st Belcher
35th Doomsday
43rd Past in Flames
44th TES
45th TES
46th Elves
48th Polymorph
53rd TNT

Either the average combo player in LA is terrible (believable), or the environment is hostile to combo (also believable).

And just because a 12 year old made top eight, doesn't mean you can start making generalizations about the meta based on 1 appearance by a kid at a Knightware event.

10th Curtis Fogle [UW Stoneblade] Needs to contact me as he did not fill out a slip
I know a Curtis, he might be a Fogle. I'll get in contact with him, to see if he's a Fogle, and if he is, to get in contact with you.

Reanimator huh?

EDIT:

And just because a 12 year old made top eight, doesn't mean you can start making generalizations about the meta based on 1 appearance by a kid at a Knightware event.
And the fact that he's a 12 year old kid that top eighted, so he's not your average 12 year old, and so shouldn't be generalized.

EDIT:
Ok, he's not picking up so I sent him a text. Mutual friend said he is a Fogle though.
