StarCityGames.com and Griffon Events on behalf of Comic Town are proud to announce SCG's Spring State Championships from April 11-12, 2015. Each day of States will feature a different main event format with prizes going to top finishers of each event.
WHAT: SCG Standard and Modern State Championship
WHERE: Greater Columbus Convention Center in rooms E170 - E172
WHEN:
Standard - Saturday, April 11th
Modern - Sunday, April 12th
REGISTRATION BOTH DAYS: 9-9:50 am
Start Time and Player's Meeting: 10 am
ENTRY FEE BOTH DAYS: Cost: $30 cash for on site main event registration
PRIZE STRUCTURE FOR BOTH DAYS:
1st - 72 Packs, Qualification for a StarCityGames.com Invitational, 15 Open Series Points, Champion Medallion & Champion Playmat
2nd - 54 Packs, Exclusive State Championship Playmat, 10 Open Series Points
3rd through 4th - 36 Packs, Exclusive State Championship Playmat, 8 Open Series Points
5th through 8th - 24 Packs, Exclusive State Championship Playmat, 6 Open Series Points
9th through 16th – 18 Packs, 4 Open Series Points
17th through 32nd - 6 Packs, 2 Open Series Points
33rd through 64th - 3 Packs, 1 Open Series Point
33rd+ 1 Open Series Point
Top 8 Finishers all receive a StarCityGames.com State Championship Top 8 Pin.
ON DEMAND SIDE EVENTS: All side events will fire as soon as the required 4 or 8 players have registered for the event.
EDH/COMMANDER SIDE EVENTS:
$10 entry
4 player podded group game
Casual REL
Each player is given 3 booster packs at the beginning of the event. If you eliminate a player from the pod he/she gives you 2 of their booster packs. Just for playing you get at least a booster pack! If you are the last player standing you could walk away with 9 booster packs.
8 PLAYER SIDE DRAFTS:
1) $10 Go Infinite Single Elimination
Low risk, low reward but big fun. All eight players get 3 packs to draft with. The only player that wins anything is the first place player. They either win 3 packs or free entry into another Go Infinite draft.
2) $15 6/4/1/1 Single Elimination
Your traditional eight player single elimination draft. All players will get 3 packs to draft with and prizes get paid out 6 packs, 4 packs, 1 pack and 1 pack. All you have to do is one one round to get a prize.
CONSTRUCTED Win-A-Box:
Super straight forward...$15 entry fee, single elimination constructed events with first place walking away with a sealed box of Magic booster packs. The formats that we will have sign ups for are...
