The first place decklist looks very similar to diddly dal. Also, sutured ghoul combo? Seems rather interesting.

EBA? Let's seriously not hope the pro's have been influenced by Roop ....

I wonder if we can admit that Landstill's good again yet.

I'm surprised Goblins didn't do better considering the Japanese love affair with little green men during Onslaught and Mirrodin block.

Every time Goblins lose, joy is to be found.

It's not like Goblins did badly, 3 t8ing is still a good show.

I like that Ghoul list, although I would have run more than one basic, and more mana accel. The sideboard is pretty messed, though, Explosives are great; but Negator... Confidant...? Also, how is it 56 cards??

Wow, that winning list is crazy.

Do we have any more info on this event? At least the number of players?

Meh, you useless bums, I found it myself. Quoted from a report on TMD:

Time to register, I'm the first on a list that will go up to 39 people. .... 5 swiss rounds and a Top 8 Single Elimination. 12 japanese Time Spiral booster for all top 8 players and 40 revised dual lands (4 of each) to the winner. Nice !

Only 39 players removes some of my excitement about this event.

Where's Shaheen in this Top 8, I thought he was supposed to be amazing at Legacy!

I would just like to point out that a quarterfinalist posted in the CounterSliver thread (http://mtgthesource.com/forums/showpost.php?p=92382&postcount=432).He was playing EBA...maybe he'll play CounterSliver at the next PT Kobe?

So, um yeah, grats to EBA and Faerie Stompy.

He is amazing! Also, he was there for the Pro Tour not the 39 player Legacy event.

I'm not sure we're ever allowed to admit this.

Aside from its recent top notch placings, I've also seen a little resurgence of the old U/W Landstill in my area and it's been placing pretty well.
