Chalice and Scepter

if my opponent has a chalice of the void in play with 2 counters on it, and I have an abayance on a scepter, does the chalice counter the ability of the scepter?

The mana cost of the copied spell is still whatever is printed on the original card, so a Chalice with 2 counters would counter a Scepter-copy of Abeyance.
