If my opponent has a Chalice of the Void set at "1" can I flashback an Ancient Grudge to destroy it, or is flashback considered actually playing the spell?

isn't ancient grudge 1R? (2 cc) If it is then I'm pretty sure it doesn't counter it. If the chalice was set to 2, I'm sure we'd have a different story.

Flashback is considered actually playing the spell, but flashback cost and converted mana cost are not the same thing. Ancient Grudge's converted mana cost is 2 (the number in the upper right corner of the card) regardless of whether you're playing it from your hand or flashing it back. A Chalice set at 1 would not counter it. A Chalice at 2 would.
