I think it's because in that conversation, 'Doomska" could have traded 2 Blinkmoth Nexus and 2 Glimmervoid (read: 6 dollars) for 4 Windswept Heaths (read: 40+ dollars), but didn't, and showed him the price instead.

As to why this would make Gearhart cry, I don't know. Maybe everything makes Gearhart cry.
