View Full Version : Why wasn't Nick Trudeau banned?

I was arguing with some random San Diego scrub on MTGS, and he was saying how Trudeau didn't do anything wrong by changing the slip, that he was peer pressured, that ShaqFu was to blame for letting Nick take up the slip, and how ShaqFu should be banned from the DCI for being such a noob. After I mercilessly flamed him on Salvation for his dumbass comments, I started thinking: Why hasn't Trudeau been suspended/banned yet? He's obviously a disgrace to the game. How long do these things take to process?

Even if he did get banned how would we all know? Is there somewhere they announce that kinda thing? But yea he def needs to get the bannerhammer if he hasnt already or its not pending.

His name isn't on the list (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dci/suspended).

Although that page might not be the final say on the matter. Life bans have been replaced with bannings until 2055, and I remember at least one lifetime-banned (Massimiliano Esposito, assault) who is no longer on the list; this suggests a software update and/or work in progress.

Sandro Degl'Innocenti 62892737 10/4/2004 10/04/07 Altering match result slip

Mike Sammut 29905967 11/15/2005 05/16/07 Altering match results slip

Jordan Velasco 31226697 8/18/2004 08/17/08 Providing false information to a tournament official, altering a match result slip

3 years, 1.5 years, and 4 years, respectively, for similar offenses, so I think we should expect the same for Mr. Trudeau.

Why does everyone got to hate on Nick? Both players were idiots for letting something like that happen. If you win, you take the damn slip. If you don't win you don't cheat. The reason he isn't banned is because the friggin judge said, "I wont ban you if you tell me the truth" so why all the discussion? If you care so much about the friggin situation then talk to Nick and find out what happened. Otherwise stop complaining about an opponent who you will most likely never play. Besides, how bad is it to know you are going up against BHWC Landstill before you even cut your opponents deck, hahah.

I'd have to say cheating is a little more severe and he deserves to be banned. Who needs how many people he has screwed out of wins because of his cheating.

This discussion is destined to go nowhere. I'm ending it before it gets ugly. Locked.
