If I have a creature come into play with a zero ass, can I graft a +1/+1 counter on it so it doesn't die?

No. As soon as state based effects are checked the x/0 will be put into the graveyard. Graft's ability is a triggered one, not a static.

Graft: Graft represents both a static ability and a triggered ability. "Graft N" means "This permanent comes into play with N +1/+1 counters on it" and "Whenever another creature comes into play, if this permanent has a +1/+1 counter on it, you may move a +1/+1 counter from this permanent onto that creature." If a creature has multiple instances of graft, each one works separately.
Graft is a triggered ability. By the time your creature comes into play, before triggered abilities can resolve, SBEs will be checked and your creature will be put into the graveyard.

lol ok, I just got some store credit for being good at magic at Altered... So I baught packs to try and pull a Goyf. And in one pack I got the uncommon graft land, and an 8/0 trample creature. I want my money back.
