As the title suggests this will be the last of Gateway's monthly legacy tournaments. The store is closing on 5/31/08 at the end of the day.
Anyways, on to the tournament info.
-Date: Saturday, May 10th 2008
-Start Time: 12:00PM, 11:00 AM Registration
-Type: Legacy (1.5) (This event will be DCI sanctioned, Eric Dupris [ELD] will be judging.)
-Cost: $20.00
-Where: Gateway Comics Etc
3103 Cranberry Highway
E.Wareham MA 02538

The event will be Swiss with cut to top 8 (number of rounds depending on turnout)
Prizes:
1st Place: $250
2nd Place: $125
3rd Place: $75
4th Place: $50
5th-8th Place: Packs based on turnout.

Top 4 prizes guaranteed with 20 players minimum
Prizes will be reduced proportionally with less than 20 players.

Not to hijack the thread but this recession is going to be a real doozy. For the younger guys out there, if you get a reasonable job offer grab it. You can always cherry-pick another job in a few years but you want a solid one right now.

If i can find someone to share the gas costs with me, i'll go, otherwise i'll have to pass this one up... the last one cost me half a tank of gas (well, not realy half, but it seemed like that much). So yet again i say, if anyone from around Worcester wants to split gas costs of going to Wareham, let me know.

On a serious note, it's sad that Gateway is closing. I always liked going there.

I'll try like hell to make this just to see Gateway again.

I'm probably going to the type one this weekend for the sole reason that it's at Gateway.

It's really a shame that it's closing but the legacy event should be a great note to end on. Hopefully I'll see you guys there.

With 2 of 3 of the last week's tournys being replaced by the prerelease and hte release (not to mention my buying Ravagers on ebay) i'm spending way too much money on Magic lately.

The slight possibility of winning those prizes makes me ok with paying the entry fee, but I'll only go to this if i can find someone (or 2 or 3) to split gas costs with.

If it's only like myself, you, and Nick I'd assume gas would only be 5-8 dollars each. So, at most 30 for the day not including food.

When I go on trips, it doesn't matter who is driving, spilting gas and tolls equally always seemed fair to me.

I actually am kinda happy in some perverted way that Faeries won, even if it was mono-u and not playing Cashblossom. However, I feel horrible that teh store was trying to throw an epic going out tournament for Legacy since it's closing and only 15 people showed..... I mean, when the Guild closed I think we had a record huge tournament the last night it was going to be open for Friday night legacy.... so I feel bad even from NY that this store closed and it's last legacy tournament seemed to be on such a horrible day for people to try and sling some cardboard.
