WAAAAAAA, PrePubesant College kids are going to school. This is the weekend after worlds I would think that may keep the attendence down more than a few teenagers from the cuse area crying about the weekend.

I would surmise that you will get the cuse people and the Rochester People. All the people who are going to Indy will probably have their magic budget Tapped for the month of August.

Unless, they, y'know, know somebody who has a car. I know I wouldn't mind driving a couple hours for a shot at two PIMP beta trops.

And luckily I only have to drive like fourty five minutes. And you'll live walking distance from my place then.

Bumping Price's post.

We have 3-5 wanting to come from NoVA. Since Kadi is back in Blacksburg, we will not be able to make it without alternate lodgings. We need to know ASAP to plan accordingly.

Ironic that for the last tourney, we had to turn down three offers.

We're going out drinking (but the bar is like a half mile from my apartment, so I could return home to let you in). And it'd be croweded as shit, and an extra fourty five minutes or so from cuse to my place.

Only "event site" and "Cuse" are the same thing. PM for directions/confirmation.

44 or 45 people

When I left Nightmare was 3-0 playing round 4 (MS Paint), same for Peter Rotten (Goyf Sligh). Zach "Two Baskets" Tartell (Ichorid) was 3-1, as was Konsultant (U/W/g/b Landstill).

I went 2-0, then 0-2 with Ravager and decided to head home rather than play for the small chance of being a x-2 that makes it in.

There were a ton of Goyf Sligh/Burn decks (I personally saw 5, there may have been more).

UWb(g?) Landstill (Geoff Smelski)(Konsultant)

Good luck with everything. Even though I don't think I've ever had the pleasure to meet you, you've been around since before I joined and you've contributed a ton. Again, good luck.

Also, Nick, because it's your list, how is the 3/1 Counterspell/Spike package working out over Fire/Ice? It seems better in the Syracuse metagame at first glance, I remember wanting them a while back at the GAGG.

It was Nick's deck, but Carl's list. If I remember what he told me correctly, it was he cut the Fire/Ice's himself for more counter. Why he didn't just cut 2 more cards and do Counter/Top though is beyond me.

Actually it was Carl and myself that discussed that slot the night before and we both agreed that fire/ice didn't do enough most of the time.

We decided that counterspell was the best spell that we could think for that slot with the 1 random force spike. I would probably go with another random card other than force spike for the next time around, but the counterspells worked really well from what Carl told me.

Congrads to Carl for the awesome win.

Beats me. The only thing I can think of is that it was too mana-intensive and that he really wanted to keep in the bounce config.

Edit- I didn't see Nick's post.

Sigh.....

14 hour drive for eighteen packs. And both Nightmare and Zach bitched out on drinking afterwards (though Zach did provide a handle of Jack:smile: ).

Another sweep of the swiss, another loss in the top 8. It's unfortunate that a deck I've optimized for speed and consistancy still can shit the bed when it counts.

For those who missed it, I had another string of 6 wins by turn two. Then in game three of the quarterfinal, I have to mull to four. That's fine for three reasons. 1) I keep a hand with a potential third turn, and almost definite fourth turn win (City, Coliseum, Breakthrough, Stinkweed) that results in no Narcomoebas, and one Ichorid in seven Dredges of at least five each. 2) My opponent is playing a very good match-up (Goyf Sligh) with Extirpate as his only hate. And 3) He makes a lot of mistakes. Dissapointing as all hell. And for those checking the list, Ancestor's Chosen was only in due to the inordinate amount of Burn at this one. Everything else in the list has been working perfectly.

Thanks again to Zach for putting us up, PTGRTS for the tournament, and the rest of the players for showing and making it enjoyable.
