I remember trying to help my Ex with her Medical Terminology first exam. The course outline stated it would require you memorize nearly a total of 100 terms, combining prefixes and suffixes. She, of course, waited until the night before to try and study and was having one of the nervous breakdown things I hear about. I came over and tried to help her with some simple childish memorization techniques:
"Ok, sweety. What does Append- mean? I'll give you a hint. Remember that organ I had removed earlier this year because you order the fish tacos when neither of us like fish and Cheesecake Factory sucks? What was that?"
"Umm. . ."
~Five minutes later~
"The Appendix, girl. Append-Dix."
"Ok, the next card says -ectomy. Ok, this is the procedure they had to do because I had an inflammed Appendix. They did an appendectomy. So what do they do when you have an -ectomy procedure?"
"Umm. . ."
"I'm not even gonna wait. They remove it. -Ectomy means Removal basically."
"This is hard, babe!"
"I think we should break up."
