Gonna test people's powers of metagame prediction. Depths was king of August, and RUG is running away with September so far. What's your prediction for where the meta will shift (or not shift) and which deck will rule October?

I think cheeri0s will make a comeback and dominate the format in October. It's going to happen, I believe!
On a serous note I expect it to be something that RUG is weak against. People seem to want to play to beat "the best deck".
4c Control builds? The more the format settles, the easier it is to build something that has decent matchups, generally speaking, across the board.
The recent SCG results might be a herald of that. Then again, it might to the other way and be whatever ends up being better than 4c in general (while still being good versus Depths).

I think the Jeskai Mentor lists look very very consistent and powerful. That's my pick, though I'm not sure if enough people have picked up the deck yet to really make it get the same raw #'s
I remmember when a 'stable format' was a selling point.
I still think that if 'fresh' is what people want, vintage, legacy and modern should have a randomly rotating ban list.
Disregarding all the new printings the format is rather stable. RUG taking over after depths was because decks adapted to depths being strong and frequent. A meandering meta is inevitable if people look at meta-game data and do a little thinking.Quote:

I do think storm is in a great spot, as shown in both the GP and the SCG. But i dont think it will put up the numbers no matter how good it is.
