Karn, the Great Creator + Serum Powder

I think I understand this interaction works properly, but I wanted to be sure:

Can Karn, the Great Creator grab an artifact exiled from Serum Powder?

i'm gonna say yes, just because i want it to work that way....

Yes, it can. Not only that but I have see it abused in early Post builds.

If Karn's ability didn't include "or in exile" it would not work, correct? Since the outside the game implies sideboard? Just want to make sure i got it too.

Since M10 "outside the game" in sanctioned play only refers to cards in the sideboard

yes and just for reference Rest in Peace makes the whole process simply silly. Add Hem of Obedience and just enjoy

The only cards Karn can't grab from the exile zone are specifically face-down exile.
