What is the creature type of lands with living plane in play ?

Pretty sure they would not have a Creature Type, but they should retain whatever Land Types they are.

So they cannot be named by plague engineer?

That is correct, they would only have whatever Land Types they already have and those are not legal things to be chosen with the Engineer, because that specifies a Creature Type.
