    Re: [Primer/Deck] Pox

. For a long time the game has been changing so that what the deck does is irrelevant. It began with the introduction of planeswalkers and got worse with sagas. There is no way a printing of a new...

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Pox

That depends on what type cantrip it is. If it's a brainstorm then the opponent can play a land and then put the other two lands back in his deck in exchange for better cards. (Also brainstorm help...

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Pox

Interesting idea! That is just a 56 card list however. With that discard plan I would add four Shrieking affliction.

Liliana's triumph is useful against marit lage bcs it's an instant, and is also quite safe from chalice.

Sticky: Poll: Re: All B/R update speculation.

Fetchlands are still good value with no BS in the deck, but the other way round does not hold true.
So I agree with ban the fetches position.
BTW, I bought my fetches initially to make Sensei's...

Sticky: Poll: Re: All B/R update speculation.

Will the next banned card be a companion, do you think?

If they release more cards with that mechanic I think that is likely.
I am also expectng more bans from this set. I figure it just take...

Sticky: Poll: Re: All B/R update speculation.

Really I should have been more verbose.
What I am saying is that Brainstorm and Force of Will matter ever less, eventually becoming irrelevant, because of the bloody power creep. Even hate is less...

Someone mentioned BS? Can't say it feels untouchable anymore. Nor does FoW do much. Too much resilience. Too high power levels of cards.

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Pox

Yeah, I have tried splashing red occasionally, and even white for Kaya, Ghost Assassin, but mono B is mono B.
Funny thing; whenever I try splashing I get me opponents that mana screw me one way or...

Feline(op) actually quit this one ages ago and won't edit it.

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Pox

Working on on a Dark Depths build. I essentially replaced the Tombstalkers with
DD and hexmages, keeping the Bloodghasts and Shrieking Afflictions. Not bad. Hexmages have been useful.
    I also have...

    Thanks for those reports!

I run a similar list, but I always include four Engineered Plague in the sb. Now, with MH, I will also add two - three Dead of Winter in main.

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Pox

Thanks for the report! You are right about bloodghasts, they are not for every deck.
You already got 13 win cons so cutting them is no big deal. Letting the Mishra's do more work suggest adding...

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Pox

Yeah, cool analysis shows the cards are nothing much to write home about. Ashiok is interesting hate that may see play. Perhaps in a Blue moon stompy. It is too expensive though.

I can understand people are looking for something that blue seems to get all the time. The last card we got was just a creature-kill; the Fatal Push.
However black already got a ton of powerful...

Some new fun cards for Pox would be welcome. I am not impressed by this card however. Not in Pox, but definitely in a suicide build!

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Pox

The sideboard is always a work in progress. In this case the hexmage was a test. In theory it has several match ups were it is useful, particularly any deck with dark depths. Problem is that it takes...

    Glad you like it

I am no big fan of 1-för-1 discard. It has happened too often that I've been discarded to Oblivion but still won the match.

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Pox

You would be surprised how many opponents empty their hands even with affliction on the table. Often playing that surplus land they don't need. Maybe it is a sign they feel they are going to lose...
