I can just speak from my experience: Currently Liliana has kind of a hard time staying alive on her own. Recently I ran into a lot of decks playing Manlands&Planeswalkers and/or a flashy creature...

Versus an unknown opponent I would go with Lackey first. Versus blue.dec I would try the vial.
