    Re: Commander 2019 Spoilers

Fathom Seer and Hunted Horror could be fun too, but they're not nearly as strong.

    Even better - Fluctuator.[/QUOTE]

Stuff like Dark Deal and Ill-Gotten Gains works too.

It breaks symmetry on a lot of stuff, particularly if you add red or blue.

    Re: Commander 2019 Spoilers

It's probably not good enough. It's basically a fluctuator variant with lands that don't cycle, but you do get to run stuff like the Bloodghast / Insolent Neonate package in-tribe, and Basking...

    Re: Commander 2019 Spoilers

Elsha of the Infinite is more like Magus of the Future - it's not limited to four cards per turn or by an attack trigger. Narset doesn't combo with Thought Lash or have silly interactions with...

    Re: Commander 2019 Spoilers

You have to pay based on the cost on the front of the card. (This seems like a question for the rules section.)

If you set servant to black, Reap has potential.

    Re: reserved list crumbling?

Well, even with amulet, it still costs a land drop and a second land if you have it. So maybe if you're cheating land drops with Second Sunrise or something.

    Re: reserved list crumbling?

I think that - although they have similarities - the drawbacks on Lotus Vale and Lotus Field are mechanically different enough that they might not fit into the same deck.

    Lotus Vale enters...

Sticky: Poll: Re: All B/R update speculation.

It's really just a matter of working out the best way to fill the graveyard. Bridge is certainly a derpy card, but you can cast Hogaak with Prized Amalgam and Bloodghast too.

    Re: Core Set 2020 Spoilers

The problem is that you pay 4 to get them back, which is pretty huge by legacy standards. Also, we already have Shadow of the Grave.

They've printed a whole slew of these top deck things recently - precognition field, epic experiment, citadel, and now mystic forge.

I wonder whether mystic forge will find a spot in affinity.

Any thoughts on Brought Back (Faith's Reward for two target permanents) in legacy? Recycling two fetchlands for WW is pretty strong.

And throw in Kazuul's Toll Collector and Sunforger for more fun? It seems marginal to try to put two cards together without it winning right away.

I wonder if that works with the tap ability on DRS, and if the extra mana comes with the same restrictions (for example, can you tap Beastcaller Servant mana to cast a sorcery?)

    Edit: Does it...

    Re: Core Set 2020 Spoilers

Yarkok does double up on landfall triggers, which is significantly better than panharmonicon. The casting cost is pretty hefty though.

There's a whole slew of stuff: Zombie tribal synergies like Gravecrawler, non-zombie graveyard value like Bloodghast or dredge, madness, and good old-fashioned Trinisphere.

Season of Growth seems pretty "win-more." It could get slotted into glimpse of nature decks like elves and cheerios too, but I doubt it would make them any better.

There could be a fun interaction with Soulflayer, but you're probably right. That said, they may print some combination of creatures that busts the ability later.

Street Wraith and Edge of Autumn are still around, though you'll want a different combo engine than Ad Nauseam with those.
