    Re: Commander Legends Spoilers

Chancellor of the Annex seems pretty good too, actually. It gives you opening hand disruption that can then come into play with Court. You need a decent density of fatties to make the card good, and...

    Re: Zoo

You could also consider going even higher on fetchlands. You likely never need more than 4 actual lands in play, and Wayward Guide-Beast can return lands back to give you retriggers later if you need...

    Re: SHiV (Shadow-Hollow-Vine)

Well yeah, the nature of having recurring threats makes the deck great at grinding out opponent's in grindy matchups when you can adequately fight through the graveyard hate. The bigger problem is...

    Re: SHiV (Shadow-Hollow-Vine)

The inclusion of more lands instead of Lotus Petal makes more sense if you're running Bloodghast, especially since your list has transformed away from turn 1 speed and is more focused on getting big...

    Re: SHiV (Shadow-Hollow-Vine)

The Caverns are not feasible in the Shadow list, but they work out perfectly fine in the rainbow list. The only non-creature spells I'm attempting to cast maindeck are Therapy and Once Upon a Time....

    Re: SHiV (Shadow-Hollow-Vine)

Well yeah, Rootwalla beatdown itself isn't strong at all, it's the turn 1 Hollow One's and Vengevine's that are. Rootwalla simply facilitates the turn 1 Vengevine's and Hollow One's more...

    Re: SHiV (Shadow-Hollow-Vine)

I don't mean to take away from the discussion of the Shadow version by posting this, but this is what I am referring to by more speed:

    Lands (12)
    4 Cavern of Souls
    4 Undiscovered Paradise
    4...

    Re: SHiV (Shadow-Hollow-Vine)

That diagnosis pretty much lines up with exactly what I've been saying.

The strength of this deck is its ability to overwhelm the opponent on turns 1-2 with too much for them to deal with. Slowing...

    Re: Emry Inspector

Well, I was thinking more along the lines of the prison style artifact deck that was mostly a control deck with more non-creature artifacts. Although now that I think about it, The Antiquities War...

Re: 4C Control (Snowko, Czech Pile and more!)

There are already versions on mtgtop8.com that are doing this, but they usually run some number of GSZ, Dryad Arbor, Noble Hierarch, and a small utility creature package (Scavenging Ooze, Collector...

Walking Ballista interacts with threats, especially in tandem with Arcbound Ravager.

I forgot about Eliminate. Strix and Eliminate is definitely enough to justify the black splash, and Thorns is...

    Re: Emry Inspector

Sai is probably better in a deck with more zero cost artifacts and draw engines, but I think it still does enough in your deck to be worth it, and it certainly combos very well with Steel Overseer...

    Re: GB Vengevine

Well, Gravecrawler certainly does help enable faster lines with Stitcher's Supplier on the board. My line of thinking though was that the deck is capable of functioning without it, using Cabal...

    Re: GB Vengevine

Yeah, Hedron Crab is bad with Hollow One. Hedron Crab and Stitcher's Supplier are incredibly powerful, but are leveraged much better in the regular Hogaak decks.

The value in the Hollow One lists...

    4 Wasteland

Yeah, I know they are pretty radically different, where I'm more combo oriented vs aggro oriented, but your list was originally UW with Emry with a little bit of other overlap, which is why I posted...
  17. Re: Secret Lair Crossover with The Walking Dead - time-limited new cards

I can see this finding its way into a Bant Blade deck as a 1-of. The 3cc slot is already really clogged with better options, but it gets pumped from Hierarch and Jitte, and has the potential to draw...

Re: Winter is Coming - Echo combo

Re: Winter is Coming - Echo combo

Well, Echo has its weaknesses too, such as graveyard hate. Running more 0 mana artifacts also exposes me worse to Collector Ouphe, Chalice on 0, etc.

The symmetry is certainly a factor. Only...

Re: Winter is Coming - Echo combo

I'm not saying Riddlesmith isn't strong, I'm just hesitant to expose myself to creature removal (at least preboard) in a Storm deck.

Good point about Force of Will. It still seems good at stopping...

Re: Winter is Coming - Echo combo

Well, I've explored both of those cards in my Echo Stompy deck, but I'm not sure that I want to run those maindeck in a Storm list. Emry needs Bauble to be really good, I think. Riddlesmith is great...

Re: Winter is Coming - Echo combo

Makes sense. I'm sacrificing some explosiveness/speed with Ponder and Wishclaw vs Gamble and Burning Wish, but I'll be a bit more consistent. Turn 1 Narset into LED/Echo is still incredibly strong...

Re: Winter is Coming - Echo combo

I don't see why Narset can't work. You have the mana to be able to cast it on turn 1, and combo'ing that into LED/Echo is just so strong. As a 3-mana Impulse, it's a bit expensive, but it can dig for...

    Re: SHiV (Shadow-Hollow-Vine)

Why would you run Gurmag Angler over Hogaak? The delve cost is less, you have enough black/green creatures to pay for it, and it's a significantly better threat than Gurmag. Not to mention the better...
