Re: [EDH] Arcum Dagsson - Prison Tinkerer

Scuttlemut is strictly better than Alloy Myr. Changing creature colors isn't amazing or anything, but having the option is a little bit better than not having the option.

    Re: I Predict a Riot

That's a good point about Lightning Serpent. Another card to look at is Rakdos Charm becuase it has enormous utility. It's even more relevant here since one or two damage gets things rolling instead...

    Re: I Predict a Riot

I've seen a few attempts at Rakdos decks on other sites, but playing it almost like Animar combo is another KombatKiwi innovation. Good going. As for actual suggestions, Lightning Serpent is good for...

Re: [EDH] Kaalia of the Vast

Now for a very small point. Is Simian Spirit Guide better than Dark Ritual here? Ritual is obviously better for playing non-Kaalia things, but Guide lets you play Kaalia on the same turn without...

Re: [EDH] Kaalia of the Vast

How about Infernal Darkness? It's almost, but not quite, mass land destruction. It's very disruptive against everything but mono black.

    Re: Kaho Kombo

How about Talrand, Sky Summoner as a plan B? He doesn't have to be at the helm to be right at home in this deck. For more Solidarity effects, there's Meditate and Three Wishes. Those cards are...

    Re: Kaho Kombo

    Thanks, I think...

Just a minor thing that popped into my mind is that Savor the Moment is slightly less derpy than Mitotic Manipulation. Not sure if it's sufficiently non-derpy to play, though.

    Re: Kaho Kombo

You seem dead in the water (no pun intended) if High Tide gets exiled. Maybe you could run one or both of Caged Sun and Gauntlet of Power. In that case I would say upgrade Trinket Mage to Fabricate....

    Re: Kaho Kombo

I don't normally pirate entire deck ideas from the web, but in this case I might make an exception. Very fresh, innovative idea!

For the decklist I have a few suggestions. Merchant Scroll is...

    Re: Jhoira Chaos

Why Jhoira of the Ghitu? You'll scare the crap out of people at the begining of the game and she doesn't do much for your chaos theme. Nin, the Pain Artist, on the other hand, lets you cash in on...
  11. Re: Krenko, Mob Boss - Mono-Red EDH Goblin Tribal

Haunted Fengraf isn't as good here as it is elsewhere because of the high density of relatively low-impact creatures, but it's still a land that comes into play untapped that you can cash in for an...

Re: [EDH] Animar, Soul of Elements

The criterion for an evasion-granting creature was that it be useful when you're not looking to crash in with Animar. I suppose Soulbright Flamekin provides ramp, but can this deck even use...

Re: [EDH] Animar, Soul of Elements

    No problem; beats actually working.

By the way, if you're completely bent on landing Animar on turn two, there's:

    Elvish Spirit Guide
    Simian Spirit Guide
    Skirk Prospector
    Wild Cantor...

Re: [EDH] Animar, Soul of Elements

Well, I've looked through all 3871 creatures that are legal for play in this deck. It isn't impossible that I missed some gem, but I was pretty careful. Anyway:

    Craterhoof Behemoth gives trample...

    Re: Zedruu with Pingers

Godhead of Awe certainly seems worth testing, but it might be a win-more card because it requires an active machine gun and :wu::wu::wu::wu::wu:. I'll definitely try it out, though.

    Blazing...

Re: [EDH] Animar, Soul of Elements

Since you already run Primeval Titan you could use it to find a trample land like Skarrg, the Rage Pits or the probably superior Kessig Wolf Run.

Re: [EDH] Animar, Soul of Elements

A creature that'll let Animar get through for a deathblow and do other stuff is a tall order to fill. Champion of Lambholt could work. It gets huge like Animar does. Ethereal Usher is probably too...
  18. Re: Steak and Eggs - Second Sunrise Combo

If all Teferi does for you is ensure that your big recursion spells resolve, then Dosan the Falling Leaf does it cheaper.

Also, Crystal Vein and Archaeological Dig were staples in the Eggs deck in...

Re: [EDH] Animar, Soul of Elements

Cryptic Command obviously isn't a creature, but it lets Animar get in there and does other stuff, too.
  20. Re: Wort, Boggart Auntie - Unleash the Broggarts

I'll certainly concede that Haunted Fengraf is better in a deck where targets are limited, but it's still solid in decks where targets are abundant. Especially considering your impending mana-base...

    Zedruu with Pingers

This deck requires a little bit of context. Way back in 1998 at the Urza's Saga pre-release, while everyone else was agape at cards like Time Spiral, Stroke of Genius, and Tolarian Academy, I fell in...
  22. Re: Wort, Boggart Auntie - Unleash the Broggarts

Urborg Volcano and Akoum Refuge are strictly better than the Vivid lands in a two-color deck. They're also dirt cheap, unlike some other strictly "better" options for the mana base (Badlands,...

    Elbrus, the Binding Blade

    First thing's first:

I know that Elbrus, the Binding Blade is not a legal general. My local play-group has given me their blessings to try it out anyway. I think it's not too much of a stretch,...
  24. Re: [DECK] "Mostly Harmless" (Maelstrom Wanderer Combo)

As far as I can tell, the Mind Over Matter/Temple Bell combo is only susceptible to Krosan Grip and Wipe Away once you start making everyone draw their decks. Both those cards are pretty commonly...
  25. Re: [DECK] "Mostly Harmless" (Maelstrom Wanderer Combo)

    More lands that ramp:

    Hickory Woodlot
    Sandstone Needle
    Saprazzan Skerry
    Havenwood Battleground
    Dwarven Ruins
    Svyelunite Temple
    Crystal Vein
