    Re: [Deck] Goblins

It's the same as being able to resolve a Cavern'd Lackey through and opponent's Counterbalance with a Top on top.

Agreed. It's posts like this that make me question the credibility of the...

    Re: [Deck] Goblins

It's a perfectly legal play to choose to target a Cavern'd Lacked with REB (assuming Painters Servant is in play). It won't counter it, but it is a legal play.

    Re: [Deck] Goblins

Speaking as a Thalia player, I think that it's also because Thalia builds are playing for the long game more than other builds are, and the card advantage is more useful.

    One other point is that...

    Re: [Deck] Goblins

I think that 4 Thalia is overkill (3 is more typical) and I would want some Krenko/SGC in there, maybe over the 4th copies of your other two-drops? I quite like having a toolbox of value vs various...

I think that the only people that are cutting Piledrivers are replacing them with Thalia, which has a similar effect in terms of which matchups it's good against (Thalia slows them down, Piledriver...

Or maybe we just need a 10/10 goblin with haste for R?

    Re: [Deck] Goblins

    Thanks GoboLord.

If we summarise the results (I classified the Average and Bidding lists as Rogue) we get the following:

    Archetype #Played W-L WinPct
    CLASSIC 13 34-18 0.654...

    Re: [Deck] Goblins

Good points, and I agree with both of them.

In terms of bringing in new cards, the 'flex' slots to me seem to be taken up by Tarfire and the 5th Lord....

    Re: [Deck] Goblins

Seconded. Once you're decided to be running black, Warren Weirding is definitely superior to Tarfire.

Yeah, and I guess I have similar concerns about Earwig Squad. It was lackluster for me a...

Sure, I remember the Winstigator lists put up results in your analysis. Has that changed over time? What about recently?

    Re: [Deck] Goblins

I completely agree. Both are a Waste/Port/Thalia mana denial engine with Caverns/Aether Vial to attack counters and little disruptive men as a shell/incidental win condition. I think that Merfolk...

    Re: [Deck] Goblins

Fair enough. We clearly see the match playing out along different lines, that's why we are making different card choices in our deck lists.

    I agree.

Well, he doesn't kill lackey so much as he blocks it, the way every other creature in the world can.

I think that the mana denial strategy is really most needed against the decks...

Hey, I really like your list. One thing that struck me is that you have almost no need for green at all. I think your list would be a lot smoother vs other wasteland decks if you just bit the...

These krenko lists I'm seeing cutting all the tutor targets and SGC and running more tarfires feel like they are getting too inbred.

Do we really want to strategically position ourselves to...

    Re: [Deck] Goblins

    That's defensible logic.

Keep in mind that the switch makes the deck a little faster and focussed, but also less resilient (able to answer fewer threats, no card drawn).

    This is similar to...

He's not the sort of card you want to run as a 4-of, he's merely an excellent tutor target. (My tutor package is currently Tarfire, Prospector, Piledriver, Stingscourger, Sharpshooter, Krenko, SGC)....

This is the sort of SB I'd run for you daniel:

    3 Pyrokinesis
    3 Wear // Tear
    1 Boartusk Liege

    1. It's cheaper than Disenchant when we want to hit an enchantment
    2. It's easier to cast when we want to Shatter something

So I wanted to try out Tarfire and Krenko in my Rw list, which necessitated cutting the green splash.

Here's how Replenish works: "Auras can only be placed on permanents that were on the battlefield before this effect started to resolve. "
