    Re: Controversial Idea: Allowing "bribes"

Certainly the sudden-amnesia problem is a negative of allowing prize splitting -- but it applies to all prize splitting, not just prize splitting conditioned on one party conceding. Under the...

    Re: [DTB] Sneak Attack

Fetch your lands aggressively when they don't have Stifle mana, and fetch basics if at all possible. Turn 1 Delver is very difficult to beat, but otherwise, the match up is not too bad -- you should...

    Re: Controversial Idea: Allowing "bribes"

No offense intended, but your OP could be re-worded to make it clear this particular problem (unintentional draws) is what is concerning you. In the OP, instead of first identifying a specific...

    Re: [Deck] Sneak Attack

In addition to what Apple said, it's a good idea to play the long game. S D Top is very good to help you not miss land drops. I also board vendillion clique in this matchup.

    Re: Your ideal Magic tournament

I think my lgs is the same as thecrav's. A few things i like about it that other stores don't do/have:
A big lcd tv to display the pairings and time left in the round.
    Pretty clean bathroom.
    A...

Re: Changes to the planeswalker uniqueness rule

I'd like to see me some renewed Null Rod action. Has the added benefit of shutting off mana abilities (LED, Moxes, Petal, artifact lands) and other nifty artifact cards/decks (affinity, mud,...
  11. Re: When is a card considered drawn during draw step?

I think it's not a Gotcha situation when it's clear that someone forgot to pay the pact. By the rules of the game, that player should lose. It's Gotcha when the opponent tries to argue an inference...
  12. Re: When is a card considered drawn during draw step?

At a regular or competitive REL in particular, I can't imagine a judge declaring that a player's violation of Rule 2.2 equates to moving to the draw step in the OP's scenario.

    Drawing the card...
  13. Re: When is a card considered drawn during draw step?

I would say only when the card is placed in hand.

    Re: [DTB] Sneak Attack

Yep, pretty sweet. There will be situations when we can draw an additional 7+ cards against aggro/tempo decks, counting on the life we will gain from blocking.

Re: [Article] Theft: The Game Has Changed (SCG)

I had a deck stolen when duals were $10 each. Perhaps some theft is motivated by value, but other theft simply results from immoral people being opportunistic.

    Re: Buying possible stolen cards?

Thought #1: it's not a good idea to rely on legal advice from anonymous people over the Internet who don't know what state you live in.
Thought #2: you're probably going to buy the cards anyway even...
  20. Re: [Article]Eternal Europe: Storming in Strasbourg Day 1

Thanks for the responses. @Hof especially, that makes sense. A very fine line, but I now see the distinction between (1) reminding your opponent "about" a triggered ability and (2) reminding your...
  21. Re: [Article]Eternal Europe: Storming in Strasbourg Day 1

Great article. Now I'm going to derail and ask about missed triggers because it appears the Magic Infraction Procedure Guide should be edited to clarify whether intentionally allowing your opponent...
  22. Re: an interesting 'Azorius' interactions and synergies package i would like to discu

Memory Lapse fits best in an aggressive, tempo-oriented deck like one of the Delver variants or even Merfolk. Things like Predict or Portent are just too cute, IMO. You're devoting too many slots...

    Re: [DTB] Sneak Attack

Very good point re: Intuition. I almost always board it out due to surgical extraction fears. I think it's still pretty good g1 against those decks you listed, though. If you don't really need it...

    Re: [DTB] Sneak Attack

When I read it, I did a double-take as well. Seems like cheating / disqualifying conduct. But if it's Regular REL, perhaps the practice can be allowed by the TO. Still, highly suspect.

    Re: [DTB] Sneak Attack

I've been playing a no-petals list, but just +1 land (20 lands) and +3 cantrips (making room for 2 intuition, 2 preordain, 2 top).

I think you've identified the two main benefits of petal. The...
