Another good protection spell to consider is Silence. That way they have to deal with silence and you winning that turn. You already run white, so adding a few more white cards shouldn't be too bad.
I've been playing around with running ascension and experiment without electromancer to interesting results, at least in goldfishing. Copying an experiment for 6 with ascension is just an awesome...
Where did you see that, or are you just speculating? I haven't seen anything saying that, so I'm really curious where you got that info from.
I think the closest we see to combo-control in legacy are decks like candle-less Spiral Tide, and Solidarity (in certain versions). Since these decks are slower combo decks, the idea is to "control"...
I took the a budget version of the blue version to a local event yesterday, going 2-2. I beat B/W Stoneblade and Fish, losing to storm twice. I did manage to take a game from both storm players...
When you account for turnabout, you said it was about .15 fizzle rate, which isn't that bad at all. Also, you're not exactly calculating a fizzle rate per say, but just the rate at which you do not...
[I'm going to assume a High tide deck that runs Desire at first then assume you are running both Desire and Time Spiral]
I think you're math is kinda off here. Assuming I remember my probability...
I would say the SnT plan is probably best. Look at how reanimator deals with graveyard hate. I don't know exactly what .dk's list was, but Emrakul + SnT out of the board might not be a bad idea at...
Am I reading the text of this new dragon wrong, or doesn't it trigger for each separate creature attacking you? It says whenever a creature attacks you, so doesn't that mean if two creatures attack...
Dredge?
I'm going to try lochlan's list but with white instead of blue. The changes look like so:
-4 Ponder
-4 Flusterstorm
-1 Empty
+1 Pyromancer's Ascension
+2 Silence
+2 Orim's Chant
+4...
I think white would probably be better than blue. With reforge the souls being the main engine, chant effects seem like the optimal form of protection. The mono-red version probably wants Ascension...
That was joke, thus the winky face. Just an fyi.
Wait a second. Could this be what puts Solidarity back into DTB status? ;)
Not to sound like an ass, but what is the benefit to playing this over U/R Storm? You get remand as disruption, but that seems like it. Is this more resilient or consistent, or both? What are your...
How do you guys usually play around Deed game 1? I either find myself playing very conservatively or just explode and set up to recover post-Deed. I'm not quite which is correct, or if there is...
What are the thoughts here on dismember in the board? I can't think of any other good way to combat Twin other than race it.
After some more goldfishing, I've found Flash of Insight to be kinda useless in the snapcaster lists. To make room for opt, I'm thinking something like:
-2 Flash
-1 Flusterstorm
+3 Opt
I...
I've been having a little bit of an issue hitting land drops. I'm not sure what to cut for more lands though.
Having just goldfished 15 or so hands with the snapcaster/snap engine, it gives us a great deal more explosion. Turn three kills are definitely doable, much more so than before. I think this engine...
Would you mind posting your list for discussion sake NyxathidHorror. It seems really interesting, although Chant isn't legal.
Premptive apology for the quick, and shorter post. I saw an interesting list on the Dailys the other day combining Ascension with Swathstorm. For reference, heres the list:
4 Desperate Ritual
4...
I've made a change to the opening post list (which will be updated as well). I'm exchanging peer through depths for muddle the mixture. The former is pretty much only good midcombo, while the...
Time for another potential combo player in the meta, which can be constructed in a more budget friendly way. Further, it is fairly fast, and can be pretty resilient. Capable of turn two kills, its...
