The way I see it:
UMA is not a bad set. The key issue is the massive bump in cost relative to value. The set is really tightly balanced, and seems like, if it were at the original Masters set...
They did...because it wasn't profitable as a Living Card Game.
I worry that Wizards are going the way of Konami, constantly printing more insane and stupidly-powerful cards...whilst not catering...
No Fuse == Total trash /s.
Also, Nexus of Fate is apparently a real problem, being one of the stupidest exclusive cards ever printed. It's spiked to over $40 at the moment.
Thanks, Wizards!
I don't think anyone is outright saying that they aren't viable.
What a number of people, me included, are saying, is that the blue core elliminates some of the variance that you'll get, when...
To ve fair, that's because the set's flavor is that of four people in an arena, working in pairs. Which is a 2v2 Battle Arena.
Whether people like it or not is entirely down to them.
FRankly, I'd rather visit Lorwyn or Theros again. Ravnica doesn't need this additional focus.
I think it'd be a D&T/Maverick Staple, as well as ADNaus in Modern. It means that you not only have a beater, you also have the capacity for acceleration that isn't hit by Thalia.
The child was Urza, clearly.
Oh, no, trust me, there's some real sleepers in there. I know people working on Cheeri0s in Modern with both Jhoira and Puresteel, for example. And Song of Freyalise is costed really aggressively.
They release them for free after the set's arc is complete. I have all of the stories from SoI onwards.
Also, the Saga art is really impressive.
Yeah, I should have been clearer that it's the same set rather than an individual pack.
It's almost like someone wants the company to fail, isn't it?
The key thing that Pokemon does, that almost every other TCG with a paper presence doesn't is unify card packs. So, for every Pokemon booster you buy, you can enter the code and obtain that...
Past in Flames is A Thing, you know. I'd definitely think it's worth considering a playtest.
Modern makes an asston of money for the secondary market, simply because of the bulk cost. Legacy, Vintage and Commander make chunks of money per card, but you can't beat small profits from a wide...
People were expecting Crucible, rather than Relic.

Should be nice in foil.
It looks pretty terrible for Legacy, I agree.
But I'd say there's a lot of interesting stuff for Modern, Commander and standard going on.
I'm honestly not sure if this is as good as, or better than Caged Sun in more creature-oriented decks. That is an insane set of abilities.
So we have a Mercadian revolutionary, an Elf walker who doesn't seem to be Nissa, Narset and Jaya Ballard, Task Ancient?
....I can dig it.
WElp, time to make Riku again :D
The reason being, this into Beacon of Tomorrows off an Invocation is spicy.

That's the closest thing right now.
I still like that they acknowledged that they made mistakes in bannings in the runup to PT and EW. Because that makes sense.
So long as nothing gets banned on Wednesday again. :D
