    Re: Modern Horizons Spoilers

It strikes me as a unexpectedly strong pivot from rewarding you for playing on your opponent's turn with alternate casting to pretty much exclusively playing on your opponent's turn.
    There are lots...

    Re: Modern Horizons Spoilers

It still surprises me that a damage cannot be prevented sweeper hasn't been printed yet. Again, if it was pitchable, even better.

    Re: Modern Horizons Spoilers

In white I'd like to see some sort of Angel's Grace effect. Or just an instant speed Timely Reinforcements would be epic, pitchable would just be extra.

    Re: Modern Horizons Spoilers

That is what I am saying, yes.

I am suspect that they would want to introduce a pseudo-restricted list into a format as widely played as Modern to just increase the numbers of "oopsies 2-ofs" at...

    Re: Modern Horizons Spoilers

It's not any harder to enforce, but it would just be one more enforcement. Using Relentless Rats as an example of them messing with deck construction in the past is just a false equivalency.

    Re: Modern Horizons Spoilers

It's a whole lot easier to enforce Relentless Rats than the opposite though.

Sticky: Poll: Re: All B/R update speculation.

I've always thought it'd be fair-er-ish if DRS just targeted your own graveyard.
Ended the DRS staredowns, removed the incidental graveyard safety net, and caused you to exhaust resources at twice...

    Re: [Deck] UW(x) Landstill

Fox, what is your thinking with running Portent over Ponder? Is it just to miracle Terminus on their upkeep? Or is because you can target them and hopefully stick them with running dead draws? Or...

Re: [Deck] W/x Parfait (Tax/Rack Control)

    Disappointing 0-3 with the deck.

Deck really felt like I was playing Pox: I played general hardships for my opponent, but never a clock. Further it played like it was essentially a Sorcery speed...

Re: [Deck] W/x Parfait (Tax/Rack Control)

The Oboro was more a joke how Daze returns a land but affects little else in a normal course of the game. I wouldn't seriously consider them in any list.

Orim's Chant always pulled me more into a Quinn-ward direction, but I can see the value you're suggesting. With the new EE land I was musing a Standstill variant to turtle-counter-turtle until the...

Re: [Deck] W/x Parfait (Tax/Rack Control)

So I went 2-2 with a UW list similar to the 10th place SGC list last week at the store with only 4 Daze in the main as stack interaction. It just seemed wrong to establish massive card advantage and...

What counters do players get that you would want to remove?
Only thing I can think of is Poison counters, but you can't target yourself, so what then?

No, (opponent's) Dark Depths can't be the target of spells and abilities, so they couldn't copy it with Thespian's Stage or remove counters with Vampire Hexmage.
