    Re: [Deck] Strawberry Shortcake

Ah yes, Spellskite is probably the better (but less surprising) choice :)

    Re: [Deck] Strawberry Shortcake

When you're getting your pieces Abrupt Decayed, or when there's a Chalice of the Void on 1, for instance. It's a flexible protection card that is undervalued in the metagame, I think.

    Re: [Deck] Strawberry Shortcake

I always found people underestimated the power of Apostle's Blessing as a protection spell for the key painter combo pieces, amongst other things. Maybe you could try it for matchups like Grixis...

    Re: [Deck] Strawberry Shortcake

A number of moons ago, when BR Reanmiator first reared its ugly head, I decided to axe all D&T's graveyard hate for 4x Leyline of the Void in the SB. The very first match I found myself in need for...

    Re: [Deck] Strawberry Shortcake

I was tempted to ask in here what's going on with that, too. Is it connected to the price inflation of Storage Matrix in any way?

    Re: [Deck] Strawberry Shortcake

I'm developing a UR list into that same direction. Some of the interactions that Liquimetal Coating enables are completely bonkers, but I'm not sure yet if I want a combo-ish Painter shell, or a...

    Re: [Deck] Strawberry Shortcake

Engineered Explosives has random upsides of its own, though: You can use sunburst to effectively get around Thalia, Guardian of Thraben's CC tax, and I've also cast it for 0 into a Chancellor of the...

    Re: [Deck] Strawberry Shortcake

Liquimetal Coating is a *very* interesting card. It enables a lot of shenanigans with Goblin Welder and Dack Fayden, obviously, but I also like how it interacts with Transmute Artifact, Affinity, and...

    Re: [Deck] Strawberry Shortcake

In my experience, the actual value of Ethersworn Canonist primarily depends on two things: First, if the opponent has removal for it right away (as opposed to having to dig for it, which *will* take...

    Re: [Deck] Strawberry Shortcake

Abolisher completely shuts out your opponent during your turn own, so any instant speed interaction with Painter's Servant or (casting) Grindstone is nullified, which will win the game for Painter -...

    Re: [Deck] Strawberry Shortcake

I was considering Mother of Runes in this deck as well. I've been playing Death and Taxes long enough to appreciate how good that card is. Now, I also respect Ethersworn Canonist for its ability to...

    Re: [Deck] Strawberry Shortcake

Smuggler's Copter doesn't make the cut for me because it depends on another creature to do _anything_. And that's for a 2-mana artifact that itself eats creature removal if it's doing work, costs 3...

    Re: [Deck] Strawberry Shortcake

Leonin Abunas is 2/5 even, and it interacts much more favourably with Goblin Welder than Hanna's Custody. It's rather hard to tell which one to try, but I do feel intrigued by both options!
