Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

    Nice report. Gratz.

Why did you side in Extirpate against RUG Delver in the last round? Seems like a bad card in that matchup.

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

When you take their cretures and make them burn Sculler it is almost exactly like another Inquisition that took the removal, only that you pay 2 Mana/ a Vial activation and they 1 instead if 1 Mana...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

I am sure CorpT was not trolling. His arguments against Vindicate in his list were good. One problem is that his list is not Deadguy Ale but most of the lists aren't anymore. In a Hymn to...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

You are missing the point. Of course Arena is the better draw engine - it costs more Mana (that is a huge difference like Sinkhole to Rancid Earth or Hymn to Stupor, I am giving that example so that...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

I had the same experience with 4 Bob, 3 Stalker and 3 SDT in one deck. 4 things have to come together tomake you lose by flipping Stalker:

    1. You have to have a Confidant in play. And nearly any...

Why is he weak? Confi is only bad against Red, and currently Red is no longer in the Format except for Goblins.

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

It is never Confidant vs. anything. Confidant is strictly a 4-off in this deck called B/W Confidant. Removing or reducing Confidants makes it a different deck which would need an own thread.

My experiences with Smallpox were like yours: I didn't like it.
I know that you played and dismissed Top so I try to explain why I run it. An active Top is a better card Quality base than Team...

I did not mean to attack you personally. But I've played the deck a lot, too, since a long time.

Just out of curiosity: How many lands do you run? (could only find a 3C list with 22 lands...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

But, in a 1-1, Deadguy Ale beats both Team America and Eva Green. Ale has 7-8 Removal Spells for each of their creatures while they have exactly Zero if you only play black creatures. Plus you have...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

When Chris Pikula finished 2nd on the first Legacy GP
    a) Pikula called the deck "Deadguy Ale/A Homebrew" - so there is no difference between deadguy and Pikula and
    b) Tombstalker was not printed so...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

I think making this deck 3-colored has been proven impossible by now. Eva Green would be improved by StoP and Vindicate and this would be improved by Tarmo but the deck concept requires 4 Wasteland...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

I think this is the wrong thread for the discussion. B/w Deadguy is a Sinkhole/Hymn/Ritual - disruption based heavy black deck with a light W splash for Vindicate and maybe Swords. The deck you are...

I don't like Maw, too. You already have better spot Removal with Swords and even Smother would be superior as a removal to Maw beacuse it hits Bob and Ravager.

Getting 5 Mana and then having an...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

You destroy one creature, a Goyf or a Goose for 0 life, which is fair. Then in your upkeep you decide if you want to destroy another Goyf for 1 Life which is usually fair too. Then in your next...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

I would go with 4 Thoughtseizes. Especially in a deck like Ale that's most feared card type is "creature" adding that card type to the spell is worth 2 life.

Add the 4th Shade before you start...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

I agree that Tombstalker is a mustplay in this deck. And Top is good, too. You have to accept to lose 1 of 20 games by revealing a Stalker when on low life. But he will win many games that other...

The subtitle of this thread is B/w Confidant. Dark Confidant is the best card in the deck. There is no discussion about 4x Dark Confidant.

Re: [DTB] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

    2) Yes. With Ritual plus Hymn plus Random-spell plus lands every hand is good. Nevertheless would Hymn/Sinkhole Hymn/Confidant be much better.

    3) Yes. It is bad. If you pay 2BBW to destroy target...
