Firesong and sunspeaker combo really nice with chain of plasma. Deal 3 for every card you discard. 6 cards in hand equals 21 damage
As an experiment i made a build that eschewed lantern, field of dreams and millrock entirely. Results were mixed. Turn 1 wand of denial feels sooo good with even just 1 life land

ok everybody. I just just realized ancient stirring can "tutor" up any devoid spell. Probably more applicable in the modern version.

Unexpectedly Absent can also protect lock pieces. Could replace welding jar maybe?
