    Re: [Deck] GW/x Maverick

Rallier is good, not a must have. He's great recovery to get back Teeg or Thalia after they get Massacred, but he looks awful when you're staring down an opposing Deathrite Shaman.

    He sits in the...

    Re: [Deck] GW/x Maverick

I think the answer will certainly be yes. Letting your first Wasteland threaten them being on no lands, rebuying Horizon Canopy when the need arises, rebuying Dark Depths combo, providing resiliency...

    @skizz @barook

I think the single Excavator provides most of the value there. It only takes 1 slot in the 75, and will usually be good on his own.

Azusa triple Wasteland and Gitrog shenanigans...

    Re: [Deck] GW/x Maverick

I'm not sold on playing more than 1 Excavator. He is much like many of the other bullets; extremely good in some situations and almost embarrassingly bad in others. I certainly want the first to...

    Re: [Deck] GW/x Maverick

I dusted off the ol' Legacy cards and played this today at a 4 round tournament.

    4x Deathrite
    4x Mother of Runes
    4x Thalia
    4x Knight
    2x Stoneforge
    1x Mr. Teeg
    1x Scooze
    1x Birds of Paradise

    Re: [Deck] GW/x Maverick

Yet another way in which SOLAS is awkward AF. In my experience, SOLAS rarely does anything. Dead guys are often eaten by DRS, exiled with StP, or tucked with Terminus anyways.

    The card looks...

    Re: [Deck] GW/x Maverick

    That's a false anti-synergy.

While Knight wants lands in the yard, and Deathrite takes them away, both of those cards are good at winning the game, and together they can win quite quickly. They...

    Re: [Deck] GW/x Maverick

I played 2 games against burn, and didn't have the opportunity to GSZ for 3. Admittedly I did tutor for 2 at one point to get Ooze. Kind of an auto-pilot move (if able to find a life gain...

    Re: [Deck] GW/x Maverick

I played in a local monthly today with the list sdematt posted last page (315), replacing only the 3rd Savannah with a Cradle. I have been hesitant to play with Courser, because it just reeks of the...

    Re: [Deck] GW/x Maverick

Looks good, Nik842. I've wanted to try Safekeeper + Titani, haven't made time to do it yet (maybe this weekend).

The two things that jump out at me are only 2x Thalia, and only 7 fetches. I...

    Re: [Deck] GW/x Maverick

I've played Thrun in the past, don't like him.

He sounds ok on paper, but he's really only super good vs Miracles. If Miracles is a concern, we can just play more Teegs/Decays in the board, which...

Looks great. K Grip slipped my mind, but it is a great board card for Maverick. Deluge is another good one. Let us know how it works out for ya.

    Re: [Deck] GW/x Maverick

2x Teeg in the board is good, especially vs Miracles. Increases chance of drawing it, and you can be damn sure they're gonna Swords him or Judgement him as soon as possible, so having more to find...

    Re: [Deck] GW/x Maverick

Warden, I agree with most of your points.

I'm not entirely against maze, but if it is included, I'd play it as a 23rd land (it's basically a Knightable spell, and otherwise does not function as a...

    Re: [Deck] GW/x Maverick

I'm all about sweet tech and cool creatures, but I'm not sold on Anafenza yet.

A 4/4 for 3 with a minor buff when she attacks is not bad, and she doesn't fold to opposing yard hate which is nice. ...

    Re: [Deck] GW/x Maverick

I like the list. Spirit of the Lab is obviously one of your tuned meta inclusions, but it should serve you well (people like drawing those cards).

    I like running a 3rd Teeg and a 2nd Qasali in...

    Re: [Deck] GW/x Maverick

I guess we just have a difference of opinion on Safekeeper.

I'm not advocating Safekeeper based solely on the "Combo-Kill" of giving something Shroud 4 or 5 times and making a bunch of 5/3s, I...

I thought about including Titania this weekend, but opted not to because I didn't want to try completely untested tech. I am already running 1 Safekeeper, and I think if I included a Cradle to boost...

    Re: [Deck] GW/x Maverick

I've found the U/R Delver match favorable, and I was really hoping to play against more of them at the GP. Untapping with Mom makes it a nightmare for them, and Thalia really causes problems for...

    Re: [Deck] GW/x Maverick

The big draw to SoLaS is getting a guy back. If you're expecting your dudes to get bolted or countered or Abrupt Decayed, it is very powerful. Rebuying a big Knight, MoM, or Qasali can be huge.

Having DD isn't going to miraculously save you from any losing board state that Legacy can present, but I do think that having the DD option is very valuable, and it can swing some board states in...

    Re: [Deck] GW/x Maverick

In my opinion the Big 3 right now are U/R Delver, Death and Taxes, and Miracles. "Deck to Beat" or not, you need to be prepared to see U/R a couple times in a big tournament like an SCG Open or...
