    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

I mean, it all depends on your meta. My experience has been that BR Reanimator is pretty fuckin dead to Turn 0 Leyline most of the time. They only have a limited number of ways to deal with it in the...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

I played Grim Flayer as a 1-of for a while and thought he was pretty good in the deck. I found delirium pretty easy to achieve on account of us playing a bunch of artifacts and a handful of...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

Those are cards you always play on turn 1-2 though, well before you'd cast or even need a Deed. You have to slow yourself down too much to play around it. Deed just isn't good in this deck.

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

Coming from the Grixis side of this, I'd say definitely keep Chalice in, and least on the play. No abrupt decays means the deck can get completely wrecked by it. The amount of artifact hate is pretty...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

Yeah, Golgari Charm is sneaky useful against ANT. More than once I've used it to regenerate Gaddock Teeg when he eats an Abrupt Decay.

I've always gone with chalice on 1 first and then chalice on...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

I know that. It's something it CAN do, if the draw lines up right. It's not as integral as it is to BUG Delver and it cant pull it off as consistently or as brutally as delver does. Fewer wastelands...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

I dunno, I'd still rather play against Reid Duke BUG than Shardless, for example (as the previously most popular BUG midrange deck). Every BUG deck can decay your chalice, but at least when you stick...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

I actually think the Reid Duke BUG list with TNN and Noble Hierarch is the easiest BUG matchup for this deck since they're more concentrated around 1cc cards (thus getting hurt more by Chalice) and...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

Yeah, assuming you don't have a better use of your mana for that turn, I think the deck would prefer to dredge loam and cycle thicket to draw a card rather than just taking a natural draw and...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

Yeah, Vinecrasher is straight insane against BUG decks. When I played Shardless, I could never beat that card in a million years. I don't think I'd play it maindeck but as a 1 of in the sideboard to...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

Pilhas's sideboard guide is good. I'd lean towards keeping in at least a couple chalices on the play against BUG Delver while removing them all on the draw. Maybe on the play Keep 2 chalice and cut...

That art looks like a still from an upcoming Disney movie. Not a fan. I also think the card is unplayable, as was mentioned before there just aren't enough creatures in this deck to make it...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

Yeah, Infect is a great matchup for us. I was testing against my buddy the other week and I felt like the only way I could lose is if they had a god hand. Chalice, wasteland, and tons of removal is...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

Ohhhh, ok, it's a sideboard strategy against the miracles mirror and 4c control and stuff like that. That seems a lot more reasonable. I'll come in off my ledge now haha.

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

Wait, what? Is this really a thing? I haven't seen miracles play less than 20 land. If we ever get to a point where Miracles can play fewer lands than Delver and still be the best deck I think I...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

Agreed. There's a ton of Loam in my meta and has been for a while. One of the problems I've found is that once everyone started playing Surgical in their sideboards, they learned pretty quickly...

Shout out to this gentleman for his victory while also putting the aggro in aggro loam and eschewing the GSZ package for 4 Goyf. http://mtgtop8.com/event?e=15140&d=291745&f=LE

Blech, that's a good point. I don't play standard so I had just assumed in the past they did a full cycle per block with the exception being Kaladesh since they're the enemy color version of the...

I'm in the same boat and I agree Cabal Pit won't have any negligible effect on your mana base, although I've always played it instead of Stage+Depths. I dunno if I'd try to do both. I know apocalypse...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

I wouldn't play the deck without Punishing Fire and Grove. It's so good in so many matchups. Good luck trying to beat D&T or Elves without it. Elves especially is traditionally an abysmal matchup and...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

I think you'll like the deck, but there's a lot more finesse to 4c Loam than there is to something like Modern Jund (or Shardless or Jund in legacy) since Knight and GSZ give you much more of a...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

That sounds like a reasonable sideboard plan to me, on the draw against bug I wouldn't even bother with chalice since it's too easy for them to get under it and/or blow it up. On the play a couple of...

Correct me if I'm missing something here, but why would you ever board out Chalice against Infect? Like half of the cards in that deck are CMC 1.
