Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

The Brutality main is an answer to troublesome creatures and also a maindeck Ensnaring Bridge. It's ok, not great, but the ability to win through weird situations makes it worthwhile I think.

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

Card Kingdom ran back-to-back 1K tournaments this weekend, and I ran my TinFins list at both to a combined 10-3 record. Got to the semifinals of the Saturday tournament (60 players), and went 4-2 in...

Playing a Brutality main also gives you an out to Bridge maindeck. I'm pretty dubious of spending 1R being worth some extra selection.

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

Played the list last night. 1-0 against real decks, 2-1 against rogue decks. 60% of the time it worked every time.

    R1 - UWR Stoneblade thing?
No clue what he was doing. Game 1 I kept a hand of...

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

Ok, ok. Rise of the Shrabster it is.

I goldfished a ton of games this past week (25 or so) and the list feels strong. Definitely liking the Children of Korlis. The mulligan rate is pretty high,...

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

    100% what Richard Cheese said.

Also I was asked to come up with a name to differentiate this list from the previous build of TinFins. I came up with TI Fins (titanium fins) because titanium is the...

Thanks! Let me know how it goes. I plan on playing this list again next Monday, get in some more reps.

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

Yes, because it's useful to own Underground Seas.

I don't think there's room in this build for more than 5ish pieces that take you off the main reanimation plan so not a fan of the Recruiters....

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

I didn't get in enough games to know if the 14th land would be better. The mana seemed to be ok so far. I think that Unmask and Study put enough pressure on the hand that Chrome Mox won't be...

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

I played the BR-TinFins crossover build I suggested a couple pages ago last night, and it was much, much better than I expected. Went 4-0 and had like 5 turn 1s with protection. I think this build...

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

Yup, that's how I remember it too. When I originally was playing the deck a lot I tried 4 Griselbrand and 4 Study, and really didn't like how poor Study was postboard. Preboard is was a little...

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

Even with 4 Griselbrands, you really don't have enough creatures to justify the Careful Study. The most often end up being garbage. BR Reanimator is a very well-designed deck at doing what it sets...

It's definitely a toss-up between LDV and Chains of Mephistopheles for most confusing printed text. I think Necromancy has to be the most confusing Oracle text though.

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

Bob is definitely not a bad plan (and what do you mean, you don't leave a Griselbrand in?! #nofear), but most of the decks where you need the help of a sideboard plan, Bob just can't attack. Like...

You're probably right. Being a blazing fast combo deck has value too. It's so true! People give up information in lots of ways.

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

Cool, congrats! Agreed, SFM is great. Being able to lose g1 and still crush a match is one of the things that makes me think that maybe the creatures should be main. Still haven't had a chance to...

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

Infect I didn't even board in Batterskull because lifelink doesn't matter, while Jitte is almost impossible to beat. Against BUG Delver, I resolved Stoneforge in two games. In the second game I got...

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

I have a soft spot for Intuition. Not opposed to the idea, but I've really liked Top both pre and post board. I think on balance Top has better synergy with Mentor and is relevant earlier so I prefer...

I outlined some reasons why Bob had been underperforming for me. Has your experience with him been different? In which matchups?

I did consider Delver, but from experience playing Delver in the...
