Really enjoyed reading that report, thanks!
Maybe I'm overstating it a bit. But compared to my expectations I've been really surprised by how much I've disliked DRS in the deck.
I think the main attraction of red is Pyroblast, not Lightning Bolt. Though Bolt (aka Time Walk) and Fatal Push are hard to compare in this deck too.
DRS has also been super underwhelming in the...
Yeah, check over the past few pages, this topic has been discussed already.
BUG.
List for the lazy
Creatures (10)
4 Nimble Mongoose
4 Delver of Secrets
2 Deathrite Shaman
Spells (32)
My friend took down our monthly tournament in London with Dark Thresh yesterday, tournament roundup and decklist here -...
I've been playing the BUG version a lot in leagues online the past week, mostly to frustrating 4-1 finishes (lost the last round twice).
A few thoughts
Counterspell has been surprisingly bad,...
In theory, I agree with your points wcm8. But in practice so far DRS has been really underwhelming. I'm as surprised as anyone else would be. As I've mentioned in a post on the last page, the...
I've disliked the Pierces in the small amount I've played so far too, I can see one, pushing two, but three was overkill for sure. I had the exact same reservations for Snares, still not convinced...
No, this is just what I put together the other day, I've seen his lists though and should take some notes from them.
Agree on True-Names, it's a great SB strategy. I'll get some when I can.
I...
I'm trying Dark Thresh online at the moment too with the list below. While Push has been strong, the lack of Bolt and Pyroblast is so much more noticeable than I'd imagined. DRS and Mongoose are a...
Fatal Push is almost certainly a downgrade for the deck compared the Lightning Bolt, but it's a card that replaces that slot. The appeal of moving to BUG colours is Deathrite Shaman and Abrupt Decay....
The downside of Tarfire is it can be eaten by DRS and shrink Goyf in the Grixis Delver matchup. Pros and cons to both.
The same could be said for most threats really, but I see your point.
Thanks for the SBing guide, it's very useful!
He didn't say they were.
Frostbringer > Winter Orb!
Troll, surely?
No, because unlike Entomb in this comparison, not all of Omnis cantrips draw a combo piece. You've missed his point completely.
Very nice comparison. I've always told people to go after the Entombs and Careful Studies, but haven't been able to explain it as well as you.
Bolts give you reach, kill Jace and deal with Monk if they bring them in.
Funny you mention them, I've just ordered Hidden Gibbons to try out in a number of different tempo builds.
