Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

My problem is that I think Mentor loses a lot of its effectiveness without Esper. With blue they've got brainstorms, ponders, FoW, Daze and Gitaxian Probe to be able to throw it down on the table...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

DRS, didn't even think of that, but that'd be great synergy as well.

One possible defense for running Strangler is that the 12+ cards you'd synergize with him (DRS, StP, Sculler) are cards...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

I was a longtime Deadguy fan for many years, :wb: were always favorite colors of mine. Anyways, I was inspired by the new Wasteland Strangler, something clicked in my head and I immediately thought...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

mm... It's a cute idea don't get me wrong, I dont want to be Mr. Cynical but its a pretty 'meh' option, it's pretty comparible to Jotun Grunt (which imo is better), and I wasn't really superimpressed...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

I disagree, I feel like Death's Shadow's pretty much jank unless really built around in a dedicated deck. Think of it this way: Say it's turn 3 and you have 3 lands, then it doesn't really even...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

    And we get another toy...

    Vault of the Archangel
    Land
T: add :1: to your mana pool.
2:b::w:T: creatures you control gain deathtouch and lifelink till the end of turn.

    Yay, mystics and bobs...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

Sorry I'll admit I've been practicing so many games Maverick, I'm starting to think like only that.

I agree with what you said about walkers, I've been having trouble vs UW (well, who isn't...

I guess that's it then, hyperlink always wins. Thank god for net deck, I guess, otherwise you'd have to think outside of the box aye.

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

I'm not sure what people will think of this, but looking at some of the lists people are proposing so far... I almost think it needs a Green splash.

    Why?

Because pulling off a win with the new...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

Sorin seems kind of ridiculous. Just get Bitterblossom out and/or him, you can simply sit back and chump your way to ultimate, then just win. Who even need emblem (unless you needed Skull to trade...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

I've used Jotun Grunt too, and I kind of felt the same. He was a desc SB against Lands for his ability, but even then not the greatest 'cause... well, swing into Maze, yay. Even for "shrinking"...

Yeah, I heard about that too, which is why I'm pretty much expecting them to plummet soon like I mentioned. I actually went ahead and plugged in a few numbers below to give a fair look at what we...

I still have my cataclysm list ready, but I just don't have access to Stoneforge Mystics yet... why'd they have to get so pricey! :frown: I'm honestly probably just gonna proxy or borrow till prices...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

Phyrexian Unlife says damage dealt to you, Bob causes loss of life. To me its sorta meh. Sorta reminds of the artifact... back in Urza, when you take damage just mill that many cards instead.

    To...

    Hey Blue,

The question I have then is, did you run Dark Ritual in your list when you tried using a Waste/Sinkhole gameplan?

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

So I've put my Deadguy Ale deck together after a few months. Generally I've run Sensei's in the past and went for a more slower & consistent route to win the attrition wars, but now I'm actually...

I missed the tourney this week  I was sick as a dog

That's awesome to hear Grunt is a solid card, my list's running 3x and I got 3x Mothers thrown in too! I'm running 2x Vindicate... good...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

Not bad I guess. Taking out the Vindicates & Bob and/or Sinkholes, it's really shifted to more of a Sui Ale or Eva White for better or for worse. You'll lose out in the CA taking out Confidant and...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

With that build, I'd almost suggest run Weathered Wayfarer with the Lynx. You can crack a fetch then activate his ability to get more fetches to abuse, also makes it easy to splash Karakas or...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

My thoughts on Us vs Zoo:

Is it possible for a deck like ours to overwhelm Zoo off the bat? That was my only thought.

I'm almost thinking Sinkhole would be very helpful in this matchup, I...
