What's your board look like? If you're already packing Ensnaring Bridge, they seem like what you'd need for either problem.
The upside to the card, and what *might* make it playable is it's ability to convert land #4 into a spell. And at that point, it doesn't really matter what mode your opponent chooses...
Karakas is a viable sideboard card. It has appeared in the sideboard of more than just Burn to combat strategies that cheat fatties into play. I would be interested in hearing how that player...
You totally did.
I stepped on a soapbox for a moment there.
Pyroblast and/or Red Elemental Blast are the only non-graveyard hate cards that do no damage but are still worth consideration. You aren't bringing them in to destroy a Delver or to counter...
I stand by my earlier statement RE: sweepers... but instant > sorcery. The small opportunities to gain advantage with a linear deck like burn exist in sequencing and instants allow for that in ways...
It has been some time since I've piloted Burn, but the deck is a machine so most of my input should still be relevant.
Flame Rift stopped seeing play with the printing of Eidolon. The two...
Thanks for sharing Ed!
Do you have any information you can provide that might tempt people to try your list over a more proven list that runs Price of Progress?
Any tournament results? Or how your...
The replies you've received in this thread are based on the assumption that you play in a competitive meta where the decks listed in the Decks to Beat section make up a notable portion of the decks...
You've used all the cards in your hand to get your opponent to 1 life. Their turn just ended with a massive attack and you are staring at lethal damage if you let them untap. You untap your cards,...
No.
Yes.
Increase the number of 'Searing' effects to at least 4 and get rid of shocks and main deck artifact removal.
No.
It's been a while since I rocked Burn, but I believe my answers are valid.
Lavamancer vs Swiftspear is meta dependent.
Swiftspear is better in a control meta where haste is relevant and...

Imagine the fairly common scenario where your hand is empty and you just need to draw one more card that does damage. Instead you draw this card.
If he's talking about killing his opponent on turn 4, the :5::r: flashback line might as well be flavor text.
Yeah, my bad...
Dismember, but it hurts to play...
Combust and Skullcrack would also work.
I run a singleton Taiga.
My mana base is:
10 Mountains
9 :r: fetch lands
1 Taiga
3 Destructive Revelry in the sideboard are the only :g: in the deck.
I think you mis-read again.
Two separate thoughts:
1.) "After some goldfishing I would have some more cards in my SB against Storm, but it's tight as it is..."
2.) "Still not sure...
You mentioned that your Miracles pilot leaves Swords in against you. My understanding is Swords gets left in because they have too many dead cards against us and it has at least *some* application. ...
Test and report back!
I suspect you'll find:
Creature removal 3-for-1's you on the Blazing Shoal plan.
Chancellor of the Forge is uncastable.
Pyrokinesis can't hit the face.
I think you misread Chatto's response.
I believe he had two separate and unrelated thoughts.
1.) He will pick up more Ensnaring Bridges.
2.) He will test more against Miracles...
I'll throw in my 2 cents.
I would up the Ensnaring Bridge count to 3 or 4 (probably 3). The deck we need them for is pretty impossible to beat without having one.
What are you including...
1 Tormod's Crypt
1 Relic of Progenitus
2 Surgical Extraction
3 Ensnaring Bridge
Those 6 cards are the only with any application against Dredge.
I would probably go -4 Price of Progress and -2...
It is difficult to decisively say whether Goblin Guide or Swiftspear is better in Burn. Playing either turn 1 and following up with two 3-damage/1-mana spells puts your opponent at 10. Swiftspear...
