    Re: [Deck] Merfolk

If I was going to run fetches, I would want to run a Stoneforge Package too. At that point you look at adding in Brainstorm... you start looking more like Patriot with a better beatdown plan and a...

    Re: [Deck] Merfolk

The issue is with Standstill is you need to be ahead to gain real use from it. That's really hard to do in a game where you can face a turn one Delver into turn two DRS, At that point Vial is not...

    Re: [Deck] Merfolk

Standstill helps if you are ahead or can get ahead, that means it's dead in any match that has a good turn one play. I like the card but I do not love it. I think I would rather Chalice.

It is a solid list. I have played it before. I will admit thought, as he explained the Tidal I was laughing. Such a mean card.

    Re: [Deck] Merfolk

Walked ass is slang for "Crazy and not in a good way".

I did some editing. I decided two things. One, there was not enough Merfolk to support 4 Silvergill and two, I needed Cursecatcher. So I...

    Re: [Deck] Merfolk

I am thinking about playing a waked ass build for a week and just have a bit of fun. Just at a weekly event. I was wondering what I really wanted to do and I came up with a simple answer, Equip TNN...

Yes, but it's not worth the space it does not forward the decks overall plan at all and it would end up being worse than whatever you cut for it.

    Re: [Deck] Merfolk

Oh shit. I forgot it can't be... Opps.

Swan song is not great, but it's far from shit. The issue there is that Swan misses the combo and you can win dropping only those two cards. If you have...

    Re: [Deck] Merfolk

    As a Painter player.

Chalice is a pain. Stone costs one and most removal also does. But we can tutor for Art hate and deal with it. If you can drop a Chalice and a clock, you will win. If you do...

    Re: [Deck] Merfolk

Depending on meta you run either 14 islands or a combo of islands and Cavern. Since you have so many man lands, it's ok to cut some creatures for land.

    Re: [Deck] Merfolk

It does not fit into the decks plan, we can draw in other ways and its slow. BUT, and there is always a but, but it lets you screw with Top in a Countertop situation. I have to say that while my...

    Re: [Deck] Merfolk

To a point yes. See if we where to run 8 man lands, Standstill makes sense to me. It would be in that case though. There is talk of running Factory with Vault. If we examine the strengths of such a...

    Re: [Deck] Merfolk

What do people think about running 8 man lands. I saw a bit ago it was a topic but it seams to have died away. I am interested in people's views though running Vault and Factory alongside Standstill.

    Re: [Deck] Merfolk

Try a split if the 3 and see what you come up with. I went 3-3-2 with Cavern taking the 2 of. I found it was good. The thing I really want to land is True-Name, so the 2 of is not that bad since your...

    Re: [Deck] Merfolk

    The side was:

    3x Flusterstorm
    3X Swansong
    3x Chalice
    1x Llawan
    2x Relic
    2x Jitte

I did not see Storm or Reanimator once and those where the decks I was expecting the most. Might cut a...

    Re: [Deck] Merfolk

I played tonight. Went 3-1 with a fairly common build. The only strange thing would be the 3-3-2 split of Wasteland, Muta and Cavern.

What I really want to talk about was the use of Chalice of the...

I have PI a bob before. He sits in this deck very well. I would not splash for him, but if you are looking to splash for card draw he is a strong choice.

She can also not trigger Silvergill. Just keep that in mind before you splash.

    Re: [Deck] Merfolk

To me, the answer will be if you want to play two colours, play another deck. The strength of Fish is that you are not going to die to Stifle, DRS does not feed off you and you don't damage yourself...

Fish is a meta anti Blue and combo deck. It's really never had a favorable match against Affinity. You can use half your side to make it an even fight, but it's really not worth it since you lose so...

    Re: [Deck] Merfolk

I am a bit of a traditionalist, but I have to agree no vials is off. Some games are won by vialing in lords at opitune moments, curescatchers to counter or just dropping Silvergill to get around...
