I'm surprised to see so much frustration towards the miracles match up. I've always felt EXTREMELY favored game 1. We're quick and have counter backup. Chalice stops their protection and digging.
I'm sure there are a lot of people that would disagree it's a 'lousy' option. If you have a million stoneblade decks in your meta, I would 100% run it in my sideboard. It depends on what you expect...
I usually depend on the 8 TNN and the Jitte to do the work. I realize sometimes it doesn't work out, but I just didn't find the Dismember to be as useful as something like back to basics in many...
I run 3 submerges in the side and cut the dismembers all together. It just ended up not being what I needed, or could use Submerge to greater effect instead so I haven't played it for a while. Anyone...
This might work in Modern Merfolk, but I don't think it has a place in legacy.
So you're wanting to mix Landstill and Merfolk?
I was going to say if you want Jitte in your 60, then I would recommend 4 Phantasmal Image since they can copy SFM to fetch it up. But I think the switch that you're planning is probably more solid....
ThoSha's post seems like a whole bunch of its gibberish that means absolutely nothing.
Against reanimator, it depends on what they played T1 and what their graveyard looks like.
Why swan over Pierce?
And none of them ran Wasteland!
I'm going to have to try testing that out.
Yes, but them wasting Muta or Caverns doesn't leave us with potentially dead cards in our hands.
Edit: I'm not saying it's foolish to attempt or anything like that, I'm simply stating the reason...
Guys, the last deck to splash successfully at a larger tournament only splashed it for the sideboard and it was back in the middle of 2012:

The next one...
What's your full decklist?
Comparing one point of offensive power on a single creature and the bonus of a lord isn't really a fair comparison haha.
I have a random question in regards to the big post a few pages back.
He discussed adding Tidal Warrior to his deck. Why wouldn't you run Reef Shaman instead since it's more durable? I feel like...
TNN is not essential to seeing success with Fish although he obviously is quite powerful when used appropriately/against many bad match ups.
As far as cost, I guess we'll have to see how he ends...
Speed bumps are all it takes to clinch the win when playing a tempo deck (;
1. I'm thinking that with TNN running amok that Elves will get hurt from the splash-hate (Golgari Charm, Toxic Deluge, etc etc).
2. If you drop Standstill and have no threat and no Aether Vial,...
Show me this 'success' with splashes that you claim. Looking over tournament results over the past several years Merfolk repeatedly is MORE successful as Mono-U. You are throwing out hollow claims...
I still personally think this guy, for me, will only belong in the sideboard. I like how the deck is situated in games as far as matchups will go and will look forward to having this card in my deck...
Edit: My bad on the previous version of this post.
So, what would you take out? Dismember? Spell Pierce? Standstill? And if you don't run Standstill already, what then?
Devotion land is garbage in Legacy 'folk. I would never run it.
In regards to the new spoiled merfolk, I can see him in the board, but I wouldn't run him main.
I have it in the side.
Edit: I'll post a decklist once I get home.
