I think it's a little bit of all 3, with another reason mixed in. The main reason, IMHO, is that the deck is so ridiculously streamlined as a mono-color, synergestic, low mana cost machine that...
Same goes for stealing trinisphere, LED, chalice...you probably won't want it, but you having it means they don't.
And stealing a grindstone to mill a Painter's Stone opponent would be EPIC.
Merfolk has a lot of good weapons against Ichorid. Counters at the right moment can easily ruin Ichorid's day and bouncing zombie tokens or Narcomoeba's can spoil a potential dread return. In...
Is anybody thinking about trying new Jace in the SB? Seems like he could be good in longer games when you end up playing more control...in a counterwar or standstill situation, the CA and bounce...
If you're going to take out mutavault you might as well not play the deck at all. Any time I've played Merfolk, the mutavault is always MVP.

So, who's playing this deck at the Grand Prix? If so, what are you planning as a sideboard?
Well, ok...same question for this meta then.
From the top 8/top 4 thread regarding a 130+ person tourney in Europe:
"meta: Goblins/Landstill/ANT/TES/Aggro Loam and dreadstill was played alot."
Assuming a similar meta, what would be the...
So what's the best first turn play against them?
Can we start profiling some typical matches? Things to watch out for, first turn plays, sample sideboards etc.
How about Goblins? I read someone mention that Chicago will likely be a lot of...
Is there any chance that for the under construction first post we could get detailed matchups, and things like mulligan/keep, and first turn plays against given archetypes.
For example: opening...
First, a quick bit of introduction. I’ve been playing Magic for about three years, but have never played any proper Legacy, primarily due to card/opportunity restrictions. But, I live very close to...
