    Re: [Deck] Two Green

I ran this list today at a 4 round event.

    3 Walking Ballista
    3 Ramunap Excavator
    2 Tireless Tracker
    1 Courser of Kruphix
    1 Scavenging Ooze
    1 Eternal Witness
    1 Azusa, Lost but Seeking

    Re: [Deck] Two Green

I can't wait to build a version of this deck.

A couple thoughts I've had while browsing this thread

1.) What fatties are you having trouble with specifically? I assume they aren't Legendary...

    Re: FNM promo changes

Yeah that is a bit weird. They have specifically cited the expense as a reason for not doing double sided cards.

    Two possibilities leap to mind:

1.) They made an arrangement with the...

    Re: FNM promo changes

    @Ephemeron

Yup. Most of the FNM cards have been bad, and even the rare good one can't escape the ugly FNM treatment. For years this has been a pattern; get 1 or 2 cards per year worth thinking...

    Re: [Deck] GW/x Maverick

Rallier is good, not a must have. He's great recovery to get back Teeg or Thalia after they get Massacred, but he looks awful when you're staring down an opposing Deathrite Shaman.

    He sits in the...

    Re: [Deck] GW/x Maverick

I think the answer will certainly be yes. Letting your first Wasteland threaten them being on no lands, rebuying Horizon Canopy when the need arises, rebuying Dark Depths combo, providing resiliency...
  7. Re: Tusk talk podcast episode 20: Gp vegas aftermath, vintage misery, set review, and

Brutal rulings, I hate that crap.

Out of order sequencing, and Takesies-Backsies are for small local events, not GPs. I get that it feels bad to screw up, but is it too much to ask that we play...

    Re: [Deck] GW/x Maverick

    @skizz @barook

I think the single Excavator provides most of the value there. It only takes 1 slot in the 75, and will usually be good on his own.

Azusa triple Wasteland and Gitrog shenanigans...

    Re: [Deck] GW/x Maverick

I'm not sold on playing more than 1 Excavator. He is much like many of the other bullets; extremely good in some situations and almost embarrassingly bad in others. I certainly want the first to...

    Re: [Deck] GW/x Maverick

Yet another way in which SOLAS is awkward AF. In my experience, SOLAS rarely does anything. Dead guys are often eaten by DRS, exiled with StP, or tucked with Terminus anyways.

    The card looks...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

I'm not a hypergeometric mathemagician, but here's what I've found.

With 4 copies in 60, there is a 33% chance you get EXACTLY 1 in the opener.

40% chance for 1 OR MORE.

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

I think leylines are a 4 or 0 type of card. They are very good in the opener, and very bad at any other time. When I consider playing a leyline, it's because of the power it offers in the opening...

    Re: [DTB] Grixis Tempo

@apistat I have played without the Trop, using an extra Sea, and it's quite good (1 Trop in the board). Getting wasted off a color can be a death sentence in Delver, and freeing yourself of wanting...

    Re: The new Legacy metagame

Obviously there are huge ripple effects from Top that we won't fully understand for some time.

I'm sleeving up Maverick again. I think Storm will probably pick up, and like you mentioned, Elves. ...

Negator would almost certainly be unplayable. No Dark Ritual, and the format is infested with Lightning Bolt.

I understand the value of simplicity. That argument held a lot more water when they actively pushed Modern as one of their flagship formats.

But more recently, they've been pushing Modern away. ...

    Re: [Deck] GW/x Maverick

    That's a false anti-synergy.

While Knight wants lands in the yard, and Deathrite takes them away, both of those cards are good at winning the game, and together they can win quite quickly. They...

1.) Splinter Twin deemed too good for Modern.

2.) Test for Standard to safeguard Modern.

3.) Make Sahelli Copy Cat in Standard.

Doesn't take a Doomsday pilot to see how backwards this is.

Reversal untaps nonlands. So you'd need nonland stuff that taps for 3 or more to get there.

Re: Kaladesh -or- When Kiran met Pia

Restoration is arguably hardest to cast at 3W because it requires white mana. I assume a deck doing that is probably running cantrips and perhaps FoW.

Anywho, not a lot in Kaladesh for Legacy.

I really think Marvel is supposed to be THE big payoff for having energy. I don't expect a better payoff this set. It's not actually the worst card in the world, provided you're playing energy...
