I've used that chrome mox, LED trick a couple times in testing, but I don't think it's come up in a tournament. It's pretty useful for pushing your Ad Nauseam through a spell pierce/cursecatcher.

Pretty much the only time I do it is if I'll have exactly enough mana to go off next turn and therefore won't be able to play chant on the turn I go off. Otherwise, it seems unwise.
