Re: [Deck] Grixis Control / Thieves

Absolutely ! Historically, Most lists discussed here were drs free. It is the thread that was used for grixis Control during treasure Cruise and Dig Through time eras.
I am aware that drs lists are...

    Hi guys,

    I'm surprised noone mentionned this : http://mtgkmc.blog.fc2.com/blog-entry-425.html
8th place, featuring 4 Bedlam Reveler. I like the Daretti + Dack/Strix Interaction. Interesting list.

Re: [Deck] Grixis Control / Thieves

I have tested the deck since the banning of dig through time, obviously, especially since GP Seattle. I also tested Painful Truths as a 1, 2 or 3 of in different Grixis lists (with daze, even with...

Re: [Deck] Grixis Control / Thieves

Nice to see some results from the deck.

My advice would be to completely cut the overrated painful truths and try a 1-of skeletal scrying instead. Also, I'm not a fan of Spell Pierce / Izzet Charm...

Re: [Deck] Grixis Control / Thieves

I'd like to congratulate you for both your results and your very well written article.

Still, I'm not convinced. Painful truths is quite bad against Tempo decks, that's why you have 1 murderous...

    I just read

So bolt doesn't target Jace but the player.

    @The Atog's Lord
Very well thought list. I especially like the 3 surgical extration and 2 blood moon in your sb, + the chalice...

Re: [DTB] Grixis Control / Thieves

About Snapcaster : I think that the main argument against snapcaster is its manacost. Given the number of cantrips of the deck, we can't keep 4 lands untapped in order to snap cspell in Ascension...

Re: [DTB] Grixis Control / Thieves

Rip is a problem when it comes early. Rip does nothing once ascension is active and can be considered as pure CD if we already resolved 1 dig. Ascension versions play only 5 grave dependant cards...

Re: [DTB] Grixis Control / Thieves

    Hello Nocley,

.Concerning Jace vs Tnn, it just happens that Jace solves more problems than tnn does (Consider Wurmcoil, Goyf, Knight, Goose (Tnn>J), ...) and also offers a reliable way to kill...

Cabal + Artifact hate already deal with sfm. Or maybe you're afraid of a 1/2 ? I won't keep bolt if they don't play delver.

Re: [DTB] Grixis Control / Thieves

Stoneblade is one of the easiest MU for this deck, especially if you run Dack Main. With your list, I would suggest something like :

    -1 Echoing truth -1 Cut -3 Bolt -2 Force
    +2 Pyroblast +1 Marsh...

Re: [DTB] Grixis Control / Thieves

I agree completely. A list with 4 ponder 3+ preordain, obviously, looses tempo early to cast cantrips. Maindeck Snare is actually a very good one off. Maindeck Etruth is also not bad in these MUs....

Re: [DECK] Grixis Control / Thieves

Please explain yourself. Apart from the blood moon in the Rug Mu, which can be understandable otp since he plays so many removals for goyf, I find it quite good. He also kept Forces and didn't bring...

If you want names, the first who came with the 4 Preordain build is Medvedev (and maybe the whole Dig Through Time build, at the same time as others - but Eli "declared" that dig would replace TC...

Re: [DECK] Grixis Control / Thieves

Sorry for the harsh tone, wasn't intended :).

About Dack, it s a planeswalker that does solve a problem : the resolved jitte (not much else for the md). But it depends how you build your deck. If...

Re: [DECK] Grixis Control / Thieves

Deathrite Shaman is a midrange tool that makes our deck active earlier (T2-4) but doesn t provide control over the game (except from the gy part, which is often not relevant). It s also a poor top...

I think that your point of view on Terminate is a little biased by your results (and pairings) and by the great feelings you had got in destroying siege rhino ^^....

Re: [DECK] Grixis Control / Thieves

That's very interesting. However I doubt it.

Dig through time is at its best in a reactive control deck. You generally want to dig in response to a spell (and find the answer) or EOT to resolve a...
