Re: [Deck] Canadian Threshold (aka RUG Delver, Tempo Thresh)

    ******
I'm still impressed by my setup (3 Wrenn /3 pierce /4 Hexdrinker / 50 classic). But I have the same feeling as Qweerios. The W6 count in the deck will decrease in a midterm perspective:
    The...

Re: [Deck] Canadian Threshold (aka RUG Delver, Tempo Thresh)

That was a rough idea for sideboarding plan.

You cannot really compare W6 to TNN.

TNN CMC is higher than W6. Sure it's on color (for FOW) but still 1 mana is huge (especially in RUG) and we are...

Re: [Deck] Canadian Threshold (aka RUG Delver, Tempo Thresh)

Did you jam a few games with 2+ W6 in your 60 ?

3 seems to be the actual trend.

Don't see W6 as only a recurring "wasteland" tool but rather as a not so bad CA machine:

    1) It stabilizes your...

    +1
I was suggesting that setup a month ago in this very thread.

Kitchen testing since then but I'm happy with it.

It requires a bit of practise tbh as Hexdrinker is not a Mongoose: every turn...

Re: [Deck] Canadian Threshold (aka RUG Delver, Tempo Thresh)

This is a possibility as it may better shine in a BUG shell than a RUG one but the initial idea was to get some synergy with Wren.

Wren does allow us to operate on more than 2/3 lands as most of...

Re: [Deck] Canadian Threshold (aka RUG Delver, Tempo Thresh)

    You do.
It requires to spend only 1 mana/turn and leave 1 mana opened in the beginning but when you get Wren recurring fetchlands it is very nice.

In the mid and endgame if your opponent is...

Re: [Deck] Canadian Threshold (aka RUG Delver, Tempo Thresh)

You should try to play the following creature lists:

    4 Hexdrinker
    4 Delver
    4 Tarmo

With 2 or 3 Wren in your 60.

    Yeah.
And sometimes you would draw it T4, 5 or 6...

Test will prevail but my feeling is "not good enough".

    Yep.
Dead//gone is real. 1 MD 1 side or just 1 side to keep the tarfire.

Unsubstantiate is another card but doesn't kill a creature.
It gets pass through a cavern of soul and could be a massive...

Re: [DTB] Canadian Threshold (aka RUG Delver, Tempo Thresh)

UB shadows is a nice deck but it also has its drawbacks.
Having a shadow 5/5 on the board means that you are at 8 life.

Burn (just to mention one deck) is usually happier to face a UB than a RUG....

Re: [Deck] Canadian Threshold (aka RUG Delver, Tempo Thresh)

STP is at a low level so is CB.
You are playing 11 creatures vs 4 stp 4 terminus 3 snapcaster 2 CB.
You have access to 4 stifle that will mainly target terminus triggers and snap triggers.

I do like the following setup:

    4 delver
    4 tarmo
    2 mandrils
    1 clique

    2 snare / 1 pierce split
1 become immense as a dreadful weapon

Re: [Deck] Canadian Threshold (aka RUG Delver, Tempo Thresh)

Well could you please elaborate a bit more ?

Because 2 or 3 slots is not an easy thing to include, especially in RUG where the list is already pretty tight.

    Cheers,

There should be a forest in most cases (if they want to use the lifegain ability of DRS or to cast leovold).

I have pondered whether or not I should bring Winter Orb.
Without free counters, I don't side it in as you can see.

But these sideboard plans have to be thoroughly tested. I can see at least...

    I did try both setups.
I prefer Goyf + Mandrills rather than Goose + Mandrills.

Re: [Deck] Canadian Threshold (aka RUG Delver, Tempo Thresh)

Playing Goose + Mandrills in the same deck put too much pressure on your graveyard which is different with a Goyf + Mandrill setup.

I think Mandrills are replacing Goose, not Goyf.

    My two cents.

Since a few months, I play the following:

    4 Delver
    4 Tarmo
    2 Mandrills
    1 Vendilion Clique

    1 Spell Pierce

    Usually you race.
Post side submerge (x3 when Maverick was a thing) is usually enough.

I'd bet this involve drawing into Tabernacle. Leaving your opponent with 1 mana and a choice to be made at his next upkeep to deal with your mandrill.

    Depends on your list:

    - If you play Mongoose:

Your tempo tools are usually enough. Countering a few spells is key here. Don't be afraid to counter some Life from the Loam and tutors.
