Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

List looks awesome with one caveat.

Imo, the scam reanimate troll package is very strong here and a better alternative to cabal therapy with a few slots freed up by cutting some of the 1/2 ofs.

    With all the amazing creatures...

    Esper Sentinel
    Voidwalker
    Grief

I would be tempted to jam them all alongside Thalia and Vial and maybe even Mom for a Black and Taxes list.

    Wasteland and...

Good call on Grief and Ephermite.

If the white evoke creature ends up being as powerful as Grief, I don't think there would be any room for black as Elite Spellbinder already serves a similar...

I absolutely love the idea of using Enlightened Tutor to grab hate cards sideboarded in, but I dont think it makes sense to have the E Tutor taking up valuable sideboard slots. This plan functions...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

I love Opposition Agent but playing a full 4 Dark Ritual is too much card disadvantage and often leads me to having multiples of them clogging up my hand midgame. I like seeing at most 1 Dark Ritual...

Kabal, one change I would test in the list is...

    -4 Dark Confidant
    -2 Extripate
    -2 Deed

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

I was interested in trying out the Servant + Grindstone combo into a aggro black shell. Disruptive discard and tutoring goes very well with this combo.

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

electrolyze, I agree. But I have yet to see a typical deadguy build top 8 at any major tourney in many many months.

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

I think he's taking the term sui black variant a little too literally.

There's no way you should only run 20 lands, even if you cut wastelands and aren't running Small Pox. 21 is the bare minimum....

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

What do you mean our meta isn't hurt by wasteland. I find that statement to be false.

The only monocolored decks are solidarity and goblins, and you already beat both anyways if you're running...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

Your reasoning is off Lego Army Man.

Yes, if you haven't dealt with your opponents threats, then Juzam/Plague Sliver isn't going to deal with them for you.

But Masticore will be able to take...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

I think that any build that wants to run 4cc creatures, such as Masticore, pretty much has to run 22 lands atleast. Pikula's original build ran 23 lands, and his curve topped off at 3.

    I can also...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

No offense but Juggernaut is a horrible suggestion. It dies to a Nimble Mongoose or much less a lightning bolt.

I assure that Masticore is exactly what this deck is looking for. Your disruption is...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

As a rule of thumb, threats are always better than answers.

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

The problem with Jotun Grunt is that it doesn't stay in play too long, not long enough to abuse Jitte. The whole idea for a big threat came from seeing how incredible a 4/4 was in this deck, but...

I don't know what deck you're referening but this deck does indeed beat combo and control.

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

I don't think 2 Jitte is random in a build packing 15 threats (3 Jotun Grunt or Rotting Giant for more consistency) ala. what Anarky runs. Angel may not be the best solution. But this deck does...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

18 maybe overkill. A lot of decks that ply Angel, like Angel Stax, ww/u A Stompy etc get away with running 14-16 or so white sources.
